“Clean and close to famous trails.”
+I think the best thing mama's cottage has to offer is the hygiene, our rooms and the place generally were very clean, the staff is one old woman called mama and she's a nice lady, breakfast was nice and you can also get laundry and stuff like that from the place, I also loved the location its close to both little adams peak and the nine arch bridge trails, I do recommend.
−The rooms were basic.

+Mama Cottage Ella - Sri Lanka I had a wonderful stay at Mama Cottage in Ella. The room was clean, cozy, and had everything I needed. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming, making me feel at home right away. The location was peaceful yet close to the main attractions in Ella. Breakfast was fresh, delicious, and a perfect start to the day. I would definitely recommend Mama Cottage to anyone visiting Ella!

“Budget Stay”
+- Walking distance to the main part of Ella up a steep hill - Bedroom was clean and tidy and bed was comfy with a mosquito net. - Nice outside patio where breakfast was served. - Breakfast was basic - eggs and tea. - Laundry was possible next door at another Guesthouse owned by Mama’s daughter. - Accomodation was cheap compared to others we stayed at so I guess you get what you pay for.
−- There was no hot water as the hot water is solar and it was overcast and cool while we were there. It is not pleasant coming back from from a hike and trying to have a freezing cold shower. - Mama’s English is very limited and this makes it difficult to communicate even with Google Translate. Mama did try hard to make our stay comfortable. - Wifi was rubbish although Mama did bring out the Wifi router to make it a little better.

“Comfy and welcoming home stay”
+Mama’s place is a clean and peaceful spot just a short walk away from the town and main attractions. The bed is comfy, the shower is warm and Mama makes a tasty breakfast! It’s a lovely spot that I highly recommend

+Only five minutes away from the main street where all the shops and cafes are.
−The host was friendly but a little pushy and there were some misunderstandings concerning whether we wanted breakfast or not.

“Felt at home at mama's cottage”
+Mama is an excellent cook and her breakfasts are likely to be the best thing you eat in sri lanka. I can recommend her cottage highly enough.

“Vorsicht vor eventueller Abzocke, Zimmer Preis nicht wert.”

−Die gute alte Dame wollte mich direkt abziehen und mir ein Zimmer für 40€ mehr andrehen als gebucht, was ich ziemlich unverschämt fand. Außerdem steht wlan inklusive aber es gibt kein WiFi, muss man ebenfalls zahlen. Sie hat sich ebenso daran gestört, dass ich nicht für 10usd bei ihr gefrühstückt habe und auch kein Abendessen wollte. Im zimmer gibts ausser ein Bett so gut wie nix und dafür ist der preis viel zu hoch!!! Kein Mülleimer, kein Klopapier, nix zum hinsetzen ausser das Bett und außenbereich lädt nicht zum hinsetzen ein. Es ist kalt und es gibt kein warmes Wasser. Würde es für den Preis nicht nochmal buchen!
