“Perfect location for exploring the city centre.”
+Location is ideal which is the main reason we booked this hotel. Our room was spotless and we had a great shower room.
−We’re not too keen on the decor which we found rather dark - both public areas and rooms.. not great when you are getting ready to go out.

“Lovely atmosphere in this hotel and an amazing breakfast!”
+The room was big and the shower amazing. Breakfast was delicious!
−We were given the choice to not have the room cleaned as an environmental thing. We could have just saved our towels and still have the room cleaned.

“Lovely relaxing stay in the heart of Edinburgh”
+Lovely property situated close to everything a visitor to the city could want. Plenty of shopping and restaurants all within a few minutes walk with the historic old town in easy walking distance. Staff are very welcoming and friendly and the rooms were warm and spotless.

“Location brilliant, everything else was pretty average”
+The location was superb close to shops, bars and restaurants
−We arrived early so understood our room wouldn’t be ready but as there was a storm outside we thought we would just grab a drink at the bar unfortunately we couldn’t access the bar due to it being closed for a private function we were told we could get a drink in the restaurant but we could only have wine which wasn’t a great experience. The room was freezing cold when we first went in and still wasn’t the greatest hours later when we returned from being out. A small one but it just added to the list of the poor experience, the sky channels on the TV worked for about 10 mins and then failed. All in all the location is brilliant but our experience was pretty average

“Overpriced and unfriendly”
+Great breakfast!
−Staff were not really friendly. When we arrived, heating wasn't on. There were an error mark on a panel. We called front desk, a female staff responded and said "it's a matter of preference". I was shocked. But later we called again to other staff and he responded very quickly and get a technician. There were some malfunction so he fixed it in his end. The temperature of that day was very low, we travelled from south, hotel shouldn't respond in joke. The room was very cold.
