“Disappointing”
+Breakfast was good but the coffee was cold. Bedroom was tired, we have stayed in Malmaison hotels before and the quality of the decoration and extras provided were much better. This room was not value for money.

“Very disappointing, fell well short of our expectations of a 4 star hotel.”
+Location was great and the hotel looked impressive so we had high expectations. Very quiet. Spacious room.
−We'd booked 2 rooms. At circa £400, and 4 star rating, we had high expectations and were excited to be staying here. We were disappointed. Overall, the hotel has great potential but there were too many "small" things not right. They can't all be new problems recently. The welcome, whilst functional, couldn't be described as welcoming. Both rooms had electrical faults. One room, bath lights could not be switched off- was swapped (at 10pm) after it couldn't be fixed. Other - no switch for the towel rail, had to be switched on by staff in services conduit. Couldn't then switch off again. 1 light and fridge not working. Cold tap ran hot for approx 1 minute before cold water. Ironically, there wasn't enough hot water for a bath though. Sink and taps showing age- black mould around taps, metal scratched and worn. Very awkward to operate- stiff. No accessible electric plug to put kettle on- was told of a panel on the desk but this was still not suitable as it contained wiring for TV and lamp. A simple socket on the desktop would make all the difference. Distinct lack of information in the room. Breakfast - one of our group has a severe allergy to apple's being eaten by others so we asked

“Comfortable but would not want Room 128 for more than one night.”
+Very pleasant receptionist who helped to ensure newspapers were delivered the following day and the breakfast was excellent.
−Room number 128 is small and area for the bed is divorced from any bedside table or chair so you have to sit on a low bed to watch the television!
