“Close to everything, with excellent service and food”
+4,5 of 5 stars. Excellent communication and accommodating hospitality by Toni via WhatsApp and manager Mario and team, with an almost family feel but still professional, and reactively problem solve for example parking in when arrive/depart. On arrival, welcomed with a surprise free cheese and ham platter, and drinks was included during the stay, if wanted. Big breakfast served dish by dish (no buffe, takes 30-45 min at least): coffe/tea, croissants with maremelade, yoghurt with cornflakes and forrest fruit jam, and eggs (I recommend the Croatian tomato sauce on bread with poached eggs) - and there will always be good bread. In general, I can also recommend Makarun's restaurant for lunch and dinner: Their black seafood risotto was one of the Split visit's highlight - and even the seperatly booked food tour of Split took the group there! Location is in old town (to find the entrance, look for the blue wall in the alley by the square) and close to bus station, harbour promenad, Spar supermarket etc. The single room was small/large enough, and the toilet was in the shower, which is understandable in Old Town. Breakfast between 8 and 10 o'clock in Oct, possibly 07:30 when requeated. AC
−Small observations: The room cleaning could be better (dusty wine glasses in the room, some but odd number of shower gel/hair conditioner bottles, and broken toilet brush) and a broken lamp in the room, but the issues were quickly corrected when pointed out, instead of proactive action. A heads-up on arrival to not remove the curtains infront of the windows when opening the windows due to the large mosquitos (which are not a problem otherwise) then buzzing around in the room would have made a difference, although it was my own fault. :) Perhaps one piece of fresh fruit or vegetable in the breakfast would have added some colour and the little extra but I was still pleased and very full.

“Absolutely the Best in Split! Wonderful location, amenities and staff! Highly Recommend!”
+Wow! Makarun Heritage Rooms is a 100!! From the moment we got off the Ferry, to our transport to the Airport, we felt as we found our new family in Split. The room was spacious, and the furnishings lovely. The location is incredible-in the old city, close to the promenade, and close to all of the starting points for various city excursions. Their restaurant was amazing; breakfast every morning was a feast and we had our "aloha" dinner (the last night of our vacation) at the restaurant and it was fabulous. The key to the hospitality is the incredible people and staff at Makarun-they treated us as visitors, not tourists, and their attention to detail and overall support of our visit was absolutely phenomenal. We plan on bringing our family back next year!

“Perfect location for a stay in Split”
+We were met at the car park by Toni, our personal concierge! Toni was a wealth of historical knowledge and spent a great deal of time helping us plan out our stay over complimentary charcuterie and a glass of wine. The rooms are unusually large for Europe and very clean. Breakfast was very good and the staff all very friendly. Everything we wanted to see was within easy walking distance from the hotel.
−The hump from the public parking could be difficult for some, but Toni was there to help. This is a small price to pay for the experience of staying in the old city of Split.

“My wife and I had a superb 5 night stay at Makarun Heritage Rooms.”
+The accommodation was central, in the heart of the old town on the edge of the Diocletian Palace compound. The staff went out of their way to be helpful. The breakfasts were superb and there is a fine dining restaurant on site which is first class.

+Everyone there went out of their way to treat us like family! Extremely helpful staff. Room was clean and comfortable, great location. Breakfast was excellent. We also had dinner in the restaurant and it was delicious!

“Ultimate hospitality in a perfect location.”
+Mario went out of his way to arrange complementary a transfer from our car rental drop off to the hotel. As the hotel is located right within the palace walls we were met by Toni who assisted with luggage and walked us to the hotel. What preceded can only be described as the best hotel check in I have ever experienced. We were seated in the restaurant and offered complimentary drinks of choice and a plate of prosciutto and cheese to enjoy while we listened to Toni explain the history of Split and highlight the points of interest to see on a map for us. He followed this up with excellent restaurant recommendations. It was like having our own personal tour guide and prepared us well for our adventures in Split. We dined at the hotel restaurant and ordered their signature Lobster Makarun, which was excellent. Mario served us and was attentive and again very generous with complimentary aperitif’s at the start of the meal. A lovely evening and stay, hosted by a family who ate proud of their heritage and genuinely want you to have a wonderful experience.
−The stay was perfect, it is like staying with your family that happen to run one of the best restaurants in Split. Don’t come expecting fancy hotel facilities, there are only a handful of modern clean rooms above the restaurant. A stay here is about genuine hospitality not fancy amenities.

“Amazing location, even more amazing staff”
+Incredible staff- Mario, Toni, and all of the others are the most attentive and caring staff I’ve ever encountered. Especially as a solo traveler, this made my experience a million times better. Beautiful little spot in an insane central location, steps from everything, including the ferries.
