+The pool area and grounds were beautifully maintained and very clean. The shared facilities (bathrooms near pool) were immaculate. The relaxation area and various swings for the kids were a nice touch. We were given figs from the farm which were delicious. The villa was spacious and even though there only being one air con unit in the main living area, the whole villa was cool despite the high outside temperatures.
−The kitchenette could have been better equipped - there were only two dinner knives and no sharp knife for chopping - appreciate they can’t provide every utensil but a larger range of items would improve the experience.

“A lovely family run accommodation, with kind and generous hosts and in a beautiful setting.”
+A lovely family run place, with lovely helpful hosts who made good local recommendations. The swimming pool is gorgeous and the backdrop of olive groves and fruit trees divine. We had a standard accommodation on the edge of the complex which was peaceful and had a lovely terrace with table and deck chairs. The bungalow was really well kitted out for self catering and there is an espresso machine by the pool. We had the breakfast one day, which was a lovely treat. With local pastries and delicacies such as sun dried figs with almonds (made on site) and prickly pear. We cycled to Commenda beach through olive groves and a sunset picnic which was gorgeous too.
−It was fine for us because we were set up for self catering, but there is no additional bar or restaurant on site. So book with a view that you cater for yourself or head out in the car for dinner. We liked Manduria for this.

“Disappointing, low value for money”
++ New and clean apartment + Nice swimming pool + The owners gave us recommendations for activities in the area
−- We expected a lot more for this price (225 euros per night). We traveled a lot through Southern Italy including the Salento. We experienced much more value for money at other accommodations. - The apartment is new and clean, but actually it is more of a cabin with thin walls (meaning that they do not hold any sound). - No facilities offered by the accommodation, e.g. gym, playground for kids, (small) bar. - The green on the location could be maintained better. The grass in the swimming pool looks very good, rest of park needs more attention. - We didn’t feel very welcome upon arrival. There was no welcome, only a very formal approach. A little word of welcome and/or welcome drink can make a big difference. - No airconditioning per room, only in the living room. - The surrounding is not so beautiful as other parts of the Salento, Maruggio itself is quite ugly. Shops and restaurants around are old and of poor quality.

“Come bungalow di un campeggio”
+Soggiorno di quasi dieci giorni in alta stagione. Il posto è in bella posizione a pochi chilometri dal bel mare. Non è un hotel, non è un agriturismo: sono prefabbricati nella natura, attorno a una bella piscina, un po’ come bungalow in un campeggio. Il posto è piacevole, i prefabbricati nuovi, arredati in modo basico con mobili di bassa qualità ma carini.
−Andrebbe tutto abbastanza bene se non fosse per i prezzi deliranti (oltre 2100 euro per otto notti) e per la pressoché totale mancanza di servizio: nessun prodotto da bagno salvo un sapone liquido per tutto, niente bar o ristorante, reception aperta poche ore al giorno e soprattutto niente pulizie per soggiorni sotto i 12 giorni, niente cambio lenzuola o asciugamani. Colazione basica servita su piatti di cartone, marmellate industriali in vaschetta di plastica e se uno vuole fare una lavatrice deve pagare 10 euro e deve pure aspettare, se la sta utilizzando il personale. A fronte delle mie davvero garbate lamentele, una penosa serie di giustificazioni che avevano l’aria di prese in giro: il prezzo alto è tutta colpa di Booking, le pulizie non le possono fare perché la case hanno la cucina e gli ospiti la lasciano sempre molto sporca, non trovano personale, ho sbagliato io a pensare fosse un hotel, etc. Sul cambio lenzuola a fine soggiorno la titolare ha cambiato versione negando quanto mi ha lei stessa messo per iscritto e, soprattutto negando i fatti. “Mir in kraj za sprostitev.”
+V mirnem okolju nasada olk je prava oaza miru. Bazen je zelo vabljiv, a tudi osvežilen.
−Brez avtomobila lokacija predstavlja izziv. Pri taki obilici sonca se vedno sprašujem, zakaj na začetku ali koncu sezone bazenska voda ni ogrevana.
