8.0“Great stay for solo travelers or backpackers!”
+Super convenient hostel to meet other travelers or in my case: to leave my surfboards whilst traveling the country. Staff is great, they got AC, a communal kitchen and Botha. Hangout area plus a rooftop where they serve breakfast (included). Laundry service for a very fair price. Big thanks to Raul, Gomes, Joyce and the rest of the team!
−Tricky to find the location. A sign somewhere at the main road would be advisable!

4.0+Communication before my stay was good. The airport transfer went as agreed. The WiFi was quite stable. You can exchange money at the hostel.
−It was a noisy place. Soundproof was not good and there was a lot of annoying noise from outside the room by loud TV, music, singing etc. The room was quite poorly maintained and the cleaning was bad. During my visit, my room was not cleaned at all. In my opinion, the cleaning should be done without a separate request. Many of the staff spoke very little English. I understand well that Angola is a Portuguese-speaking country. Nevertheless, I feel that at the hostel with many international guests, the staff should have basic English skills. I know that finding budget accommodation in Luanda is very difficult. Based on my own experience, however, I unfortunately cannot recommend this hostel. It is better to simply pay more for decent accommodation.

10.0“The best place to stay in Angola”
+Everything! The host Antonio is incredibly helpful. He booked my bus tickets twice through the Macon app, which doesn’t allow payments with foreign cards, he also got his half to help out when I had other issues. He speaks perfect English, so there’s no language barrier here. The hostel is secure with a guard there 24/7 to let you in. It always felt safe here. There’s a free breakfast included of an omelette and bread with coffee or tea. The price is really affordable. Laundry can be done for a very cheap price here. The staff here are all very friendly and helpful. The bed is comfortable, the rooms are clean, and the shower was always warm. Absolutely fantastic place to stay, and the only accommodation I’ll be looking at if I return to Luanda in the future!
−Having to leave :(

9.0“Great place in Luanda”
+Located in a relatively safe district in town. Nice rooftop for eating and socialising. Great hostel-like atmosphere and one can meet others to team up as Angola is still relatively difficult for solo travellers to venture into the wilderness. It took me half an hour to walk from the Largos dos Escolas after disembarking from the airport bus.
−Food and drinks at the rooftop are slightly overpriced.

3.0“Only for the night”
+The food was amazing! Every dish was a great portion, dinner often had leftovers. The staff were welcoming and friendly and ready to teach you Portuguese which was very helpful.
−1) They don't accept card payments even though the listing clearly says only card and no cash. That meant upon my very late arrival, I needed tens of thousands of kwanza to pay for my stay. After walking to 5 different ATMs, we caught scooters and went to 3 more before finally finding an ATM that worked. 2) There's only one shower shared between 3 four person dorms. There are two toilets but the upstairs one is clearly meant for staff as it's used for cleaning supplies storage, clothes washing, and their changing room 3) Although the food was great they don't have most of what's on the menu 4) The staff have no concept of sound. They thunder up and down the stairs, running and stomping like kids playing tag sending vibrations down your spine. When they clean, lightweight plastic chairs that a child could lift are dragged across the floor for hours, scraping like nails on a chalkboard with bass. They stay up and party late. 5) Speaking of party, the host had a huge family reunion. Not a problem I thought, they're going to party and have a good time I'll leave for the night. The host insisted repeatedly that he would keep the noise to a minimum. The party ended around 3am. The very l

1.0“Não recomendo. Lugar tenebroso”
Não me senti nada seguro naquele local. Não cheguei nem a entrar no quarto mas não me devolveram o valor da diária. Péssima experiência.
