10.0“Emma’s warm welcome and Lee’s mouth-watering dinner to Linzie and Maxine’s delicious bre”
+Dear Team, I wanted to share how much I enjoyed my recent stay. From the very beginning of my first day, I received true 7-star service, starting with a warm greeting from the lovely Emma. The dining experience in the evening was an absolute highlight, a mouth-watering meal of salmon and ravioli, which I was informed was expertly prepared by Chef Lee. Breakfast throughout my stay was equally outstanding, featuring a full range of wonderful options from yogurt and cereal to fresh toast and great coffee. The cooked breakfast was extremely tasty. A special thank you to Linzie for being so pleasant and attentive during breakfast service, and to Chef Maxine for the fantastic morning cooking. I also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Ivon, on my second morning at breakfast, such a warm and extremely welcoming touch that made me feel truly valued as a guest. Thank you all for taking such great care of me. I look forward to returning soon... Warm regards, Mohammad

10.0+Brekkie was amazing, the staff member in the morning (Maybe called Karen) running about like a headless chicken is worth her weight in gold, she manned everything superbly, was so kind to us and made everything run smoothly.
−Everything was brilliant

5.0“Not terrible but not outstanding”
+Good location with great views and close to local towns. Lovely looking building and the staff were amazing. The room was clean overall. Not a terrible price with breakfast included.
−The hotel does feel a bit underwhelming once you have entered and settled into the room. The sink in our bathroom filled and would not drain due to a blockage. In the morning the shower would not get hot and just stayed warm. The breakfast was nice but not as good as expected with very poor continental options and we had to pay extra for a coffee other than filter coffee.

9.0“The hotel is a comfortable stopover between London and Scotland, very professionally run.”
+The hotel is a dignified historical building in a pleasant riverside setting, comfortably adapted to modern hotel standards. We appreciated the size and quietness of our room, the cleanliness and the provision of a good restaurant with an imaginative menu. It is conveniently placed for Selby Abbey, and within easy reach of the M18 and A1(M), suitable for an overnight stay on the road between London and Scotland.
−There is little in the immediate surrounds to make one want to stay around. The hotel itself does not have a lift for handling the luggage.
