7.0“Very well-located, clean, warm and comfortable.”
+I usually stay in Edinburgh or Glasgow but prices there had rocketed and someone had recommended Linlithgow. The town is in a lovely spot and Linlithgow Lodge is literally a minute's walk from the train station. There is no staff but the place is clean. comfortable and warm. There's a kitchen and common room and a Tesco bang opposite. It's sort of mid-way between a hotel and hostel. I will definitely stay here again as it's only about 20-25 minutes from both Glasgow and Edinburgh (and cheaper).
−I prefer to have staff on site at all times but I didn't need them. Some people might so it's a potential problem for some.

10.0+Excellent space to stay. Will highly recommend and will book again in future visits. Our best stay over all in a month of travelling europe and uk. Also Mt fav suburb for location. Excellent staff. Love the community imput and support for youth services.
−I would like to have taken my rubbish out to a communal bin so not leaving it for staff... but couldn't find where that may be located so apologies we left a bag of rubbish tidy but would have perhaps recycled and removed b4 departure.

10.0“Amazing!”
+It had absolutely everything we needed like a Room of Requirements with the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. Everything was spotless, the things in the kitchenette were logically organized. The location was amazing, right next to the city centre with the castle, the lake, cafés, pubs, grocery stores, restaurants, pastry shops all within a short walking distance. The staff was exceedingly kind and approachable.
−Can't think of anything, but keep in mind that the lodge doesn't have elevators. At least I haven't seen any, but it was ok for me, I could carry up my luggage on the stairs.

6.0“Pros and cons. Could be improved.”
+The location is great. Right next to a big Tesco, the station and high street and with free parking area. Warm spacious room comfortable bed and good TV for iplayer etc. Good shower. Reasonable price. I like the idea of supporting all the community activities and keeping this previous council outdoor activity centre with accommodation going. The booklet had good information except about the heating.
−No visible staff based in the hostel though you can call them if a problem. A lonely soulless place if alone as I was due to last minute illness of my partner. If alone and you were not sure about another guest it might be rather frightening with no-one else about usually. I have been twice and no other guests seen the previous time. Because the cooking facilities, eating and storage areas for food not needing to be in the fridge are lacking you rarely get to chat to or even see other guests. For some reason a large reasonable lounge with chairs and tables and TV in the same building but through a small private area, involves going outside and using two entry codes to go and return from the main hostel and is little used. You would tend to store your food in the hostel kitchen then have to carry it outside to reach the big lounge and there is no toaster, hob or oven in either kitchen area.. I was surprised that with many types of free foodstuffs and various coffees, I never saw a single teabag in the small kitchen, and an intermittent limited supply in the big lounge too unless you like peppermint tea. I had my own but kept them in the bedroom as nowhere else I could think of, whic

7.0+Great location for town and commuting, parking was good.
−Had to hang towels on the small windows, the others were next to useless letting light in all around. A small table or bedside cabinet would've helped
