+Fantastic location right by the beach. Great laid back atmosphere with plenty of lounge seats
−Property difficult to find and inside a national park. Water was cut several times and room was not cleaned. Red algues in sea but nothing you can do about that.

“Libelula Love”
+Libelula is a wonderful, comfortable and special place where you can really feel the energy of Tulum’s natural surroundings. It’s a hotel that makes me feel right at home. During my stay, I really enjoyed the surroundings - I even spotted some huge turtles at night!! A unique experience! The rooms are extremely comfortable and give you a sense of luxury whilst being immersed in the jungle. The food is exquisite, made with the finest fresh local products - Mexican cuisine with a gourmet twist that you simply must try. The staff are very helpful and friendly. It’s the best way to experience the real Tulum, waking up to the sun rising over the sea. Thank you for making this a truly memorable experience!

“Favorite Place to Stay in Tulum”
+Libelula was absolutely everything I had hoped for. The remote location is the absolute best. When you want to go out and connect with Tulum you can do so any time, but when inside Libelula you are in a cocoon of total relaxation.The beach front is lovely. We lay on the comfortable beds and enjoyed the ocean. The staff weren’t just great, they were cool people that you will miss when you leave. The cocktails Armando made were hands down the best in Tulum - he is an artisinal mixologist. George who runs the day to day operations was fantastic as well and created a welcoming and lovely experience right from the beginning. The dinners and breakfasts we had were excellent. Now onto the room. We had a room on the second floor overlooking to ocean and it was absolutely perfect. The bedding, the shower pressure and warmth - perfect. The constant breeze and the sound of the ocean all night were just magical. We split our stay with another hotel on the north side to have that experience, and the minute we arrived I missed Libelula and wanted to come back. While we love hanging out where we are ( enjoying the closeness to La veleta) the two hotels both on the beach don’t compare by a long sh

“Overpriced austerity”

−No aircon No cold drinking water Loud music so can’t enjoy the sound of the sea Fundamentally this is not a hotel this is more eco-jungle lodge. This is not a comfortable place to relax and unwind. It’s a very specific kind of dynamic but I left even more in need of a holiday than when I arrived.

“Get away from it all”
+This is a lovely spot, removed from all the big resorts in Tulum. The buildings blend nicely into the landscape. The rooms are small but very comfortable and attractive. The beach is beauitful, service is excellent and food is delicious. Be sure to enjoy dinner there!

“Laid back beach retreat”
+Great little beach front hotel within the bioreserve! The room was spacious and very nice with a view of the ocean and a private deck. Bed and pillows were very comfortable, and all the staff was super nice and always helpful. The place is very laid back and away from the nightlife in Tulum, which we really enjoyed. That said, there is a small bar at the beach (open during the day) and one in the courtyard (open in the evening) as well as and a friendly mix of guests and some local folks during the days and evenings, with everything closing down by 10 pm. The restaurant was very good and they were able to accomodate vegetarians (and vegans) without a problem.
−No complaints, but worth noting that like many small hotels away from the main tourist area, the electricity and water pump run on a generator, so on a couple of occassions there were glitches without water, but these were quickly resolved.

“Libélula , ideal para desconectar y reconectar 💞”
+Fue un gran acierto encontrar este lugar! Estuvimos super relajados y disfrutamos mucho. El buen Fidel se lleva la estrella, él estuvo siempre pendiente de lo que se nos ofreciera, hasta le pedimos que si veía tortugas en la noche nos despertara y así hizo! Fue una experiencia increíble. El señor José Manzur también muy atento y cordial. La cama de la habitación de las más cómodas! Y las almohadas también súper cómodas. El último día nos tocó la playa súper limpia y sin sargazo, hay un par de gatitos hermosos! 😍.
−Los baños no ofrecen mucha privacidad y aunque fui con mi pareja era bastante incómodo entrar al sanitario. Lidiamos bastante con los horarios de agua y luz para bañarnos, sin embargo Fidel nos ayudaba siempre a que se solucionaran.
