+We had a memorable stay at Le Stanze di Matilde. If you enjoy authentic places with history, character, and genuine hospitality, you’ll love it here. What makes this place special is not just the house, but Silvio. He is an incredibly caring host who truly wants his guests to feel at home. You can see it in every detail. The whole house invites you to slow down and appreciate simple things. Breakfast was an highlight. Everything was homemade and prepared by Silvio himself. More than the food, I will remember the conversations around the breakfast table. We talked about happiness, well-being, and different ways of looking at life. He also shared the story of Matilde of Canossa, after whom the house is named, and helped us better understand the history and culture of Emilia-Romagna. Those conversations made the stay feel much richer than simply spending a night somewhere. The location is ideal for exploring Italy’s Motor Valley. We visited the Lamborghini Museum, and the Ferrari Museum is also close by. Following Silvio’s recommendation, we had dinner at Osteria Ca’ Rossa, where we enjoyed one of the most authentic meals of our trip. The restaurant was full of locals, the food was ou
−One practical note: the last part of the road to the property is an unpaved gravel road. Our car ended up completely covered in dust. It wasn’t a problem for us because it fits the countryside setting, but if you’re very particular about keeping your car spotless, it’s something to know before you arrive. I actually appreciated the authenticity of the location more than I cared about the dust.
