“It was cheap but not very cheerful”
−Very basic room, broken shower head, like really basic student accommodation

−Didn't even get out of the car, outside just full off crack heads, absolutely filthy car park over grown. Just a horrible place. My work lads refused to stay and when I requested a partial refund the message was not very pleasant

“It is very unlikely that we would stay in the same property should we return to Cambridge.”
+It did the job of somewhere to sleep and shower but little more.
−When we arrived there was garden furniture and debris strewn all over the parking area at the front of the house where we wanted to park, plus slabs of concrete in the way of the front door. I had to move everything. It was also the first place that I have ever stayed in that had no loo roll in the en-suite toilet.

“Not great!”
+Not much unfortunately. A few of the other guests were really nice.
−Firstly, the two phone numbers on the door that you are supposed to ring if you want help don't get answered, nor do texts. There was no toilet paper or soap of any kind and no coffee or tea. Owner was ultra defensive about all the issues, and when I did eventually meet him on my second day, he was argumentative and blamed the cleaners and the other guests. I met three other guests and they had been having the same issues for weeks and weeks as some stay long term it seems. Owner didn't even want to give me his name! The place was pretty dirty overall too. I'm not a fussy person, but the reluctance to put in the basics was very annoying.

“We enjoyed Cambridge. Not so much the hotel.”
+Close to the river Cam, yes, but not quite as close to the city center as this suggests. Number locks instead of keys give individual freedom when you share a room. There is an outside area to use. There is a lounge. There is a microwave and a kettle. The room has windows that open.
−No breakfast, as was announced. Kitchen facilities were inadequate to make up for this, though: there was no difference in sharpness between the two edges of the single knife that was available. Fellow guests smoked and set off the fire alarm, it took an hour for the alarm to be turned off. The lounge has no windows, so hardly any daylight. The lights in the corridor stay on all night, and there was a lot of light coming into my room below the door. It is illegal to eat in your room. On our last morning, there was no hot water.
