+Loved the location! Plenty of parking, easy door code to enter, welcoming front porch, large common area, only 6 rooms on top floor, huge room & nice bathroom. Communication was good.
−Queen bed was a bit hard and the trundle bed mattress very soft. No elevator, be prepared to carry suitcases up a huge flight of stairs.

“ONLY CONSIDER STAYING HERE IF YOU HAVE A BACK UP PLAN”
+The property was comfortable and tastefully furnished without being expensively so.
−There was an issue with my card being declined my bank flagged it as fraud. I sorted it out and paid the property directly. I’d already been to the property and checked the room earlier in the day but when my card was declined they changed the original codes. When I tried to use the code to reenter the front door it didn’t work. I called the property agent at around 19.45 while sat on the porch with my bags, I explained the situation and was told they would call the manager and call me back. Check in was supposed to be up until 11pm. I waited 10 mins no call so I called them back. I was told nothing they could do as the manager was not answering her phone. I explained we were from UK, we’d had a drink so unable to drive what were we to do? The only thing they could offer was if the manager got back to them they would call me. they had no resource? We were basically stranded. No offer of a refund. We waited a further 20 mins NOTHING! I am still awaiting a call to explain what went on or at least an apology. Fortunately my husband went around the property and gained entry through an unlocked patio door, otherwise I suspect we’d have been sleeping in the car. Absolutely disgusting tre

“Comfortable, convenient and gorgeous views!”
+Bedding was very soft and comfortable, kitchen had a lot of supplies for cooking, the place was very spacious and clean and served our needs very well! The views are awesome and the check in and check out process was really easy.
−The bed and pillows were too hard for me, so I didn't sleep very well, but my parents thought they were very comfortable and slept great. The text with access instructions were a little confusing, giving us a "Building Main Entry Code" which was the same as our unit entry code, but there is no main area that we could find. We tried the code on the front door to the whole building and I think we were trying to access another guests room. Heads up, everything in Westcliffe closes at 8pm, so plan accordingly for food. We arrived to town around 7:30pm and ended up having to run to the market before it closed to find something to make for dinner at the apartment, since all the restaurants and market were closing right as we were getting in. It would be helpful for The Lamp Post to mention this in their booking info. Really cute little town though!

“Based on my experience, I would stay again.”
+Location was good but there was no breakfast.
−The lighting in the room as limited and difficult to access except for the overhead. A floor lamp by the chair would have been very helpful. It was unclear as to what was available in the room. I don't mind not having a breakfast furnished by the lodge but I needed to know what was available to plan how I could feed myself. As it turned out, there was a microwave available downstairs.

“This was everything I needed for this trip.”
+The entire property. It was such a wonderful experience that I plan to return this fall with a group of ladies for a retreat in the private guest house.
