“A peaceful, wonderful country getaway with plenty of space!”
+The location is close to Hobbiton, making you feel just like a resident of the Shire. At night, the sky offers a stunning view, and there are plenty of adorable farm animals nearby. When driving here, make sure your GPS is set correctly and keep an eye out for turn-offs. The hosts were very friendly; we stayed for two nights and enjoyed the peaceful country lifestyle. The TV and Wi-Fi were excellent, and visitors could cook using the oven, microwave, or induction cooktop. Since it is quite far from the nearest town, driving is recommended. Ingredients for breakfast were already stocked in the kitchen and fridge.

“Comfort in the country”
+Very comfortable roomy accommodation, wonderful location. Easy drive to Cambridge, Matamata & Tirau. We were going to a wedding at the Red Barn which was only a 15 minute drive tops, Hobbiton is also very close by. Very quiet peaceful area nestled in the hills. Hosts are a lovely couple, met Shona on arrival & didn’t see them again until our departure, had a great chat before we left. Shower was fantastic, great water pressure. Heat pump in lounge warms up the whole apartment. Bed we slept in was so comfortable. Kitchen is very well kitted out & a continental breakfast was supplied as well. Would thoroughly recommend staying here.

“Over the river and through the woods (or rather hills), to grandmother's house we go!”
+The Lodge was everything you'd expect at home because it is a home. :) It had multiple bedrooms, bathroom, laundry, stocked kitchen, dining area, and living area. The place was clean and tidy, and kinda reminded me of visiting grandma's due to the decor. We chose this place because it was minutes from Hobbiton, but I wished our trip could have had another day to just wander around the grounds. It seemed beautiful and peaceful with the rolling hills. The patio was very private, but you would really need to walk outside of it since the flowering bushes surrounded the patio tightly, making it hard to see the hills and valleys beyond. The landscaping was pretty around the patio, but for me, I would have just enjoyed seeing a view of the hills. In all, it would be a great place for a family, being super spacious, a great deal on the pocketbooks, and fantastic in being close to Hobbiton.
−Although it was spacious, clean and tidy, it had a very strong grandma feel. I didn't want to disturb anything and didn't really feel free. Maybe different decor would help feel more relaxed? Still, I gave this place a 9, because decor is a personal thing, and others may enjoy the grandma vibe.
