+They have a lovely open terrace café with amazing views, especially during the mornings and evenings. The seating area is accessible 24/7, making it a great spot to sit and relax. However, night service could be improved,used dinner plates are left uncleared on the tables overnight, leaving the area messy.
−The rooms are much smaller than advertised in photos, with broken flooring and a shower that didn't work at all. A TV was listed under amenities but missing; while staff kindly shifted one from reception, it was useless with terrible quality and broken playback. What made it worse was the checkout process. At 10:50 AM, staff knocked on the door asking us to leave. When we requested a short extension until 11:15 AM, they rudely insisted, "Checkout is at 11:00 AM, leave in 10 minutes." We then called the reception directly and requested until 11:30 AM, and he agreed,but the ground staff's initial behavior was completely unnecessary. Just because of a good terrace view, you shouldn't have to compromise on basic hospitality and comfort. For the exact same price, there are much better options in Rishikesh. I moved to Crescent Moon Homestay and extended my stay for 4 more days at the same rate, and the experience was fantastic. Even on my previous visit to Rishikesh, I stayed at House of Gypsy, which was also great. Joey's Hostel is definitely NOT recommended.

“Had a disappointing stay”
+The location & budget
−I visited this place in 2023 and had a much better experience back then, with responsive management and good service. Unfortunately, this time, there was a lack of coordination among the staff. While the location and budget are good, the food at the rooftop café was very disappointing and there was no lift. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving the service and food quality.

+The best part of the hostel was their team. Very welcoming and supportive. I was there for the long weekend, but the stay was very peaceful, and I had a good jamming night over the weekend. I was traveling solo and it felt very safe at the hostel. The view from the roof top is the best thing to start and end your day.
−The room was not well maintained. And the cafe did not open early in the morning for early breakfast.

“Zeer teleurstellend”
+Er was vrijwel niets wat ons beviel. We hebben bij andere Joey's verblijven gehad en deze waren perfect.
−Binnenkomst was koel, we hebben geen gastenboek ingevuld. De eerste kamer functioneerde niet: toilet reservoir bleef water geven dat gedurende de dag en nacht zeer irritant werd. Kamer was niet schoon, er liepen beestjes rond. De douche deed het redelijk met alleen koud water deed je er warm bij kwam er geen water uit de douchekop. De douchekop was meerendeel verstopt waardoor er overal water kwam behalve waar het moest. We hebben de eerste avond een andere kamer gevraagd, dit kon niet want het moest eerst gecheckt worden en daarna verholpen. Nachtrust was lastig. De volgende dag nog niets. Ik ben daarna naar een andere medewerker gegaan en die zei meteen dat we een andere kamer konden krijgen. Bedden waren ontzettend hard. De kamer was iets beter maar het vertrouwen was geheel weg. We kregen met regelmaat water vanuit de "zaak". Als goedmakertje, zo voelde het. De eerste avond en ochtend wilde we wat eten. Alles wat we wilden kon niet, we hadden keuze uit 2 dingen. Boven waar gegeten kon worden of gezellig zitten waren ouden spullen die stuk waren en niet schoon. Het personeel was meer met elkaar bezig en soms met gasten. In vergelijking met de andere Joey's is dit de slechtste en
