10.0+Excellent stay at Jay's Guest House in Blue Mountain. Pick up in Kingston and drop off in Bull Bay. The Hike to Blue Mountain Peak was quite tuff but the goal was 100 % worth it. Jay's family and the staff including the guide and driver to the peak did excellent jobs to make our 2 nights stay at Jay's to a nonforgettable memory to put in our travel experience.

9.0“They will make you feel as home”
+The place is awesome, they treated us like family, served us the best food we tried in Jamaica and showed us the real essence of the country. It was a bit complicated to get there but they helped us any time and it turned out to be one of the best experiences of our trip.

8.0“Lovely stay in the mountains”
+As you don't have much options when going for the sunrise hike to top of the Blue Mountain, this place is nice, up in the mountains with beautiful view, owners are very friendly. They provide all the services you need for your hike including pick ups. Dinner and breakfast were tasty, however 20 dollars per dinner is quite a lot.
−However it is really very pricy and you only find out once you book the night here. With booking confirmation you will receive long message about additional fees for the transport, dinner etc. We already thought the price for the night was quite a lot but you will need transport to and from the trail, transport to and from the accommodation. The whole trip was around 120 dollars per person including all the fees for transport. The hike and view up there was amazing and I don't regret but it would be nice to know all the costs before you book the night with no cancelation option.

4.0“NOT the best place to do the Blue Mountain Hike on your own.”
+Sandra, the cook, and her awesome brownstew chicken!!! She was really nice and is a great cook!
−As expected the accommodation is very basic (shared outhouse bathroom with cold water), but the main problem is that it's still 1.5h walking distance from the trailhead. Everyone tries to sell the guided tour, which is not necessary. Even if you choose to do it at night is very doable. The path is easy to follow, although it's a pretty steep walk!. Jay's mom was nice enough to provide someone to take us to the trail and back (although it ended up being $50 for both of us - 10 more than what she initially told us. Together with the cost of transportation from Mavis Bank (you definitely need it unless you have good good 4×4 car!!), and the taxes that weren't included it ends up being like 330 for one night.

10.0“Highly recommend Jay’s Guest House for the place to stay when climbing Blue Mountain. The climb is amazing You arriv”
+The location was perfect for climbing Blue Mountain. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Great coffee and real Jamaican food. Interesting to be in a rural setting away from the tourist resorts.
−Not much to do besides climbing the mountain.

10.0“Perfect weekend stay in the mountains for a hike!”
+Loved our stay with Jay's family. The location was great right in the mountains and the staff were the friendliest I have met in Jamaica. Cannot wait to go back again and stay there or Jay's II. The amazing food and hospitality were definitely the winners. Jay was super responsive and helped organise everything for us. Thank you thank you!!

9.0“Superb”
+It provides you the most comfortable room around the Blue Mountain region, with hot water and wonderful home cooking food. Ladies are very friendly and helpful. Feel like staying in a warm local home.
−It's not cheap, especially for the transportation. But remember Blue Mountains region is still a wild and underdeveloped place. Either your body suffers or your wallet suffers. The bird guide was not professional and could only provide very limited information.

8.0“Good place for a short sleep before the night hike to the summit ! Coffee available too for purchase”
+Amazing views over the mountains. A bit far from the beginning of the peak trail so adjust your departure time accordingly. Lamoy was super helpful, he got me the entrance ticket the day before the hike and the breakfast was delicious ! Excellent wifi too.
