+I ended up staying 6nights at Janakas House (Planned for 4) and had a fantastic time. First of all the family are really lovley and welcoming, they even had a cooking session with me after I went to the local market for groceries. Janaka had his birthday the day I arrived and invited not only me, but also older guest to lunch at his place, think that tells alot how familiar this place is!

“Like visiting distant relatives”
+Staying at Janaka's guest house is like visiting your distance family. Do not expect any particular luxury, but expect being among people that feel like family. Janata is an amazing guy, great chat, just because of him I would come back. The location is also great, very close to some great and cheap restaurants, and also the house is just a stone throw from the beach.
−Unfortunately, the wifi isn't the most stable, so if you plan to work, buy a tad more data.

+The owner Janaka went out of the way to make our stay at his guesthouse wonderful. This place is all about the atmosphere, the family is adorable. Janaka took us around in his tuk tuk, showed us all the places from Dickwella to Hiriketiya and more, and he also explained a lot of things. In the evening he took us to Hiriketiya for dinner and came back to pick us up. On our departure he took us to the bus stop and helped us get on the right bus. He also speaks Italian. They have a friendly and healthy dog. His wife made a delicious breakfast. And young daughter and son also speak good English. Thank you for making our stay with you really beautiful. We recommend the place!

“Great place!”
+The property is set such 150m back from the beach and it is really easy to find / access. The family are incredibly helpful and helped us with getting to our surf lessons in the morning and getting some laundry done. They were always around if we had questions / needed anything during our stay. We had a good sized, comfortable room with a balcony and everything you would need. Incredibly good value for money.

“Exceptional”
+We highly recommend this accommodation. The owner and his family were incredibly kind. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with a refreshing welcome drink. The owner was very helpful - showed us a great, affordable local restaurant and even drove us there. The accommodation met all our expectations - it's very close to the beach where we could swim with turtles. On our departure day the owner kindly drove us to the bus stop. A truly warm and memorable stay. And thank you for the whiskey and fruits!

“We came full of love and left with gratitude and peace for the beautiful time given to us with the family and the dog.”
+We loved the family vibe around the property and the house, everybody was very helpful and supportive with everything from going to the ATM, to find a good restaurant, doing our laundry, fixing a backpack and all emotional support. Thank you for the great time, we are very grateful.

“Great 2 day stay”
+Wonderful 2 night stay at this traditional family run homestay. Janaka, the host, ensured that we had everything we needed and offered excellent local advice. The location was excellent, being just across the road from an amazing beach. Janaka's House offers excellent value for money and comes highly recommended.

“Exceptional”
+Amazing stay at Janakas House. Spacious, clean room and common area. Its only a short walk to turtle point as well as dickwella beach. Janaka and his family were so welcoming and we loved playing cards with his daughter most nights. They were kind enough to give us breakfast on the Sinhalese new year and include us in fireworks ! There is also a small kitchen and fridge that you can use. Look no further if you need a place to stay in Dickwella.
