10.0“Terrific Thommasso”
+This is related to our driver Tomasso (spell?). On St. Patrick's Day (March 17, 2026) Tomasso took 6 of us the Cradle of Humanity. Not only was he punctual but the vehicle was cleam and there were bottles of water for each passenger. We got started and Thamaasso set clear expectations. He gave us a commentary of areas we were passing during the drive which included lots of humor. He was happy to answer our questions and his knowledge was impressive. He went above and beyond by helping one of our group members who was having some mobility issues. Oh he also took some great group pictures for us. Tomasso is professional, knowledgeable, fun, polite and kind...oh and his twins are super cute. He showed us a picture. From 6 Canadians: Michael and Donna Hansby, Bruce and Kathy, Wayne and Janie.

10.0“Convenient”
+Literally across the street. We got two adjoining rooms for an overnight stay before going on to Hoedspruit. It was difficult to communicate with hotel, fo some reason our emails were blocked by hotel and we had to communicate via IHG. I demonstrate for concierge and she took a picture of the rejection. ..

10.0“Five star hotels steps from international arrivals at JNB”
+Literally the hotel is 10m away from the doors of the international arrivals at OR Tambo Johannesburg airport. Check in was efficient. Welcome drinks offered and a wet towel , room was ready, upgraded to a suite with snacking amenities. The Quills restaurant had an amazing dinner as did breakfast. The indoor rooftop pool and gym are amazing. Service was five stars all around. The concierge helped me organize a half day safari before my departure flight.

10.0“An Oasis at the Airport”
+This is obviously not a destination hotel. It sits right opposite the airport terminal. Could not be easier to reach. It's for weary travels stumbling off long haul flights, folks with an early departure, business meetings. And yet the staff here were some of the most helpful, efficient and friendly we've ever encountered. Our arrival here after an overnight flight from UK was as though we were old friends and they were delighted to look after us. What a welcome to South Africa. Our room was clean, quiet and well-appointed. It was great to have access to a gym and a pool - brilliant way to straighten our spines after trying to sleep on a plane. Ate in the restaurant that evening and again the staff were so attentive. It's not fine dining but it is very good food with a fairly wide menu. Breakfast next morning set us up for hitting the road and starting our exploring. It's not often an airport hotel excites me - but I wish they were all like this. Even waved us off in our hire vehicle.

10.0“Staff is warm and friendly, hotel immaculate”
+The hotel is immediately outside the arrival terminal, 5 minute walk. Do not use a shuttle or taxi. Furnishings are out of Architectural Digest. Very clean. Use the spa after a long flight. I recommend arriving a day early to allow adjusting to the new time zone and touring Johannesburg.

10.0“Very nice hotel”
+From the meet and greet at the airport baggage claim to the quick escorted walk over to the hotel where we beat quite a crowd of airline employees for check-in, everything was five star. Dinner at the restaurant was fantastic, wife is a new diamond elite member for IHG and they put us in a nice suite with our adult children in a corner room next to us. Room was very comfortable, spacious and seriously soundproof. Stayed here two nights with the two rooms. This is an expensive hotel for Johannesburg, but was well worth the added cost for the convenience. After a 5 day safari we had a 10 hour layover, headed back to the Intercontinental to see about a day room, which I had emailed about from the Safari three or four times but communication issues were pretty horrid, and every reply from their reservation teams truncated all previous communication, so it was a giant spinning wheel with them, that would be my only complaint about this hotel. We did come back for lunch during the layover and to inquire in person about a room, which was available at $250 per room ( with checking in at 3 & a check out at six, and no more than two people in a room,so our family of four couldn’t hang out in
