“Not the usual expectation from an Ibis but may not be normal for the hotel.”
−I sent a staff member to the hotel who reported that the room was not very clean. I didn't see that reflected in the reviews so we are thinking perhaps it was not normal.

+The staff was very nice. I actually had an accident and had to be taken to hospital but the man at the desk organised ice for my injuries before the ambulance came and my wife was given a free breakfast the following day. Thank you to all the team there

“You know where you are with an Ibis hotel, I’ve stayed in a few”
+Perfect location for my needs, river within 5 mins walk, close to station, good transport connections.
−Have never liked the breakfast offerings whether included or not!

+Great location and lovely staff
−Very old and run down hotel for the price. The carpet in the room was gross, particularly around the edges of the room. There had obviously been a bathroom leak over a long period of time because the bottom of the bathroom wall and the kitchenette shelving were swollen and falling apart. The sheets had multiple tears and you could barely see out of the window in the very compact room. There was even a coffee stain on the front door and above.

“My stay was fine. some staff were friendly others were all business and no personality.”
+It was fine.
−Went out in the morning came back mid afternoon. My bed was just like a left it. unmade. Maybe that is what happens if you stay a few days. I had been in meetings and things and i made bed would have been great. Anyway went out in the evening and came back and it was made. I went to Newcastle Beach on my stay and the Museum and other places.

+The location was convenient
−Our room was not clean Fridge didn’t work - we advised reception who “would send someone to look at it.” Nobody came and we had to throw food away. TV only work sporadically and just randomly turned itself off. Furniture was broken and mould was seen on the roof.

+Nothing
−A lot. We had a random person gain access to the key from our room and walk in while my partner and I were having showers and getting ready.
