10.0“Luxury facilities and luxury service at a superb small boutique hotel”
+Bijou boutique hotel - a throwback in design to colonial times but nothing was old fashioned about the way we were looked after by Marina, Laura, Alexis, and Alessia and their team When we arrived in Queenstown early we were met by Marina who sat us down with a glass of bubbles while our heavy suitcases were taken to our room upstairs by the girls helping that day Marina explained about how the hotel worked and how we could help ourselves to any cookies and cakes being made for guests in the open kitchen alongside the lounge parlour and so we not surprised by the welcome letter and gift greeting us in our room with a view over Queenstown harbour to die for We only saw Marina that first day but her colleagues Laura, and Alessia (both from England) and Alexis continued the friendly personal support whether it was recommending and booking restaurants for us, offering to take us into town or to collect us from anywhere if we were too tired to get back under our own steam - and of course for Nadine, leaving one of their bikes out on their verandah for her use at 6am before breakfast So when our flights back to Auckland were cancelled due to the airbus software debacle we were only too p

10.0“Exceptional service, highlight of New Zealand trip”
+We were lucky enough to spend three nights at Hulbert House for our 10th wedding anniversary, and it was the highlight of our whole NZ trip. The photos of this place don’t do it justice - it is so beautifully decorated, with every little touch thoughtfully designed. We stayed in the Firth suite - so spacious and with such a lovely view. The huge bathroom was a dream! But the thing that makes this place exceptional is the staff - they really treat you as if welcoming you to their home. Drinks, canapés, the most amazing breakfasts… and they made a real effort to help us celebrate our anniversary. I am almost hesitant to submit this review as I don’t want more of the world to know about this absolute treasure in Queenstown. We cannot wait to return to Hulbert House many times in the future.

10.0“A great place to stay in for a relaxing vacation in Queenstown”
+An Amazing Place to stay in Queenstown. Rooms are large, beds are soft and comfortable, Bathrooms spacious (shower and bathtub) and clean. A/C and heater depending on what season you are in. Buffet Breakfast was yummy! And Canapés and drinks before you head out for dinner. The thing that made this place special was the service. I really felt spoiled with the staff being very attentive to our needs. They were helpful, attentive and always making sure we were ok. They even packed a breakfast bag for us when we had to leave at 6am. Want to be pampered? Stay here!

10.0“Absolutely gorgeous.”
+This small boutique hotel is a gorgeous historical gem nestled in beautiful gardens. The bedrooms are dreamy and the main shared lounge area should be in an interior design magazine. The whole property has been decorated with admirable taste and there are amazing little touches everywhere, from the fully operational cast-iron water heaters to the little amenities dish shaped like a silver rose, to the Japanese porcelain vases on the mantlepieces. The best thing, however, was the staff. It's a small team, but every single person went out of their way to be welcoming, warm and helpful. We felt so nurtured, so well cared for, that we could hardly bring ourselves to leave. We hope to return again soon - what a gorgeous experience.

10.0+Easily one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. The rooms balance honoring the Victorian history, with modern comforts. Our room was spacious, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom modern. The main lounge is incrediblly comfortable and inviting, with tea and snacks available. The location is fantastic, only a 5 minute walk into the heart of Queenstown. The service is what sets this hotel apart. The multitude of small touches really make staying here a fantastic experience (the cooked to order included breakfast, drinks and baked goods throughout the day, water at night, packed breakfasts & lunches for early morning day trips, etc.), and the entire team that runs this property are friendly, helpful and dedicated to making your stay as enjoyable as possible.
“Hulbert House - A Victorian Hotel with Immense Hospitality”
+We travelled the North & South islands of New Zealand for 20 days staying in unique, diverse, quality lodgings. Hulbert House was our favourite sojourn, hands down. This lovely villa has seen many transformations over its 100 plus years. Now as a boutique hotel with its custom broadloom and English wallpaper, it offers luxury and elegance. Tav warmly welcomed us and gave us an overview of the boutique hotel and Queenstown. Our room, on the ground floor with spectacular views of Lake Wakatipu and the surrounding mountains, had a comfortable king bed with quality linens, a wardrobe, desk, mini fridge, kettle, a selection of teas, a plunger coffee maker, coffee beans replenished daily and a coffee grinder. A beautiful soaker tub (and shower) completed the ensuite bathroom. But more than the furniture and fixings, we enjoyed the hospitality of Tav, Chris and Jay and the entire team, the nightly drinks and canapés (where we had lively conversations with fellow guests) and the superb breakfasts. Hulbert House will without question, be our most memorable stay in beautiful New Zealand. Thank you for your masterful hospitality!

10.0“Stunning boutique property”
+This beautiful and intimate boutique hotel was the highlight of our New Zealand trip. Every one of the staff are exceptional and make you feel both like royalty and family. The rooms are beautifully appointed with every comfort you need. The beds were so comfortable. The staff went out of their way to help us plan meals and excursions and anything we needed. I hope to come back one day and experience this exceptional property again. Jay and Chris were so helpful during our time and we were so grateful for all of their accommodations.
