“Disappointing”
+Good position. 5 mins from Terminale. Close to Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore and to Palazzo Barberini.
−We were allocated to a annex building which must have been a rival hotel at some stage, about 100m away, with its own entrance and security. No big deal but the booking was a little deceptive, not really explaining that this was not in the hotel, but separate. The room and ensuite were adequate. They originally would have been top notch fittings ( beautiful tiling, high quality) but nothing had been done for 30+ years. The hot water was scorching hot, way above current regulations. The room walls needed a bit of repair with small cracks and the bathroom needed a temp regulator/thermostat. The rooms needed to be painted. There was no hot water jug, but on asking, one was provided the following day. There was no coffee or tea despite the Booking.com entry that it was to be provided. The air con inlet needed a good clean, so presumably the filter hadn't been touched for years. One of the light fittings needed to be secured properly and the wall around it replastered. An easy job. All in all, it was an underwhelming experience for the money. €250 per night. I suspect BZAR, the owners, purchase older properties that have decent cash flow, then run their properties into the ground and do

“Location was good for transport”
+Location from transport very good. Breakfast was very basic. Room was comfortable enough but had no hot water for more than 24hrs. Had to speak to reception. On website it says breakfast is served at bar Palchetto Bistrot, 5m away but when I went there they said no. Reception then said it was on premises. Misleading.I told them about website error but I don't think they fixed it.

“Don't go. You have been warned.”
−Awful tiny room not renovated since 1962. Uninterested and unwelcoming reception staff. Terrible lift situation. Very difficult to enter the hotel after 11pm. Ridiculously expensive. Almost felt like a scam to be honest.

“Dépendance non all'altezza”
+La posizione e la gentilezza dello staff; la qualità del sonno.
−Rispetto alle altre volte, ho alloggiato nella dépendance dell'hotel, che si è rivelata molto meno attraente della struttura madre. L'edificio è fatiscente (sebbene molto vicino all'hotel Sonya). La camera è di dimensioni veramente piccole, adatte a una persona sebbene sia venduta come doppia. Per fortuna dà su un cortile interno, quindi la qualità del sonno è stata ottimale; per il resto, fate attenzione a prenotare nella struttura madre.

“Sehr gute Lage und hilfsbereites Personal - Schwächen bei der Zimmerzuteilung”
+Die Lage direkt gegenüber der Oper ist ausgezeichnet. Die Zimmer waren sauber, und der Zimmerservice funktionierte zuverlässig. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich zwei ausgesprochen freundliche und hilfsbereite Mitarbeiterinnen an der Rezeption. Als eine Teilnehmerin meiner Reisegruppe mit ihrem Zimmer unzufrieden war, organisierten sie unkompliziert einen Wechsel in ein schönes Doppelzimmer im Hauptgebäude. Auch bei späteren Rückfragen waren sie sehr entgegenkommend. Ihr Engagement hat unseren Gesamteindruck wesentlich verbessert. Dafür nochmals ein herzliches Dankeschön!
−Für meine Reisegruppe hatte ich bereits im Frühjahr mehrere Zimmer gebucht. Trotzdem wurde eines der Doppelzimmer in einem separaten Gebäude untergebracht, ohne dass dies bei der Buchung ersichtlich gewesen wäre. Bei anderen Zimmerangeboten weist das Hotel ausdrücklich auf das Nebengebäude hin. Auch das Einchecken verlief etwas mühsam, und die Mitarbeiterin an der Rezeption beim Einchecken war im Gegensatz zu den beiden oben erwähnten Damen wenig freundlich. Die Einrichtung ist teilweise etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Besonders die Einzelzimmer sind klein und bieten wenig Ablagefläche. Auch einige Badezimmer sind sehr eng.

“Vaatimaton hotelli hyvällä sijainnilla”
+Aamiainen oli ihan kohtalainen. Aamiaishuone oli ahdas ja vähän sokkeloinen. Henkilökunta oli todella ystävällistä ja iloisena yllätyksenä säilytyksessä olleet laukut oli viety valmiiksi huoneeseen.
−Huone todella kulahtanut eikä vastannut ollenkaan Bookingissa olleita kuvia tai markkinointiviestejä. Hissi talossa aivan karmivan pelottava.
