“Beautiful hotel with mostly excellent service only ruined by one rude staff member.”
+The aesthetics of the interiors are beautiful and gave us the feeling of being in Paris with a Taiwanese twist. Especially loved the marble floors in the bathroom and the cooper touches with the chandelier
−I would have given 10/10 except for one instance. When we checked in we were told breakfast was included by the very attentive and polite manager on duty, however on the last morning the manager on duty was very very rude to us and told us our breakfast was not included. He even yelled across the foyer at us. I found the interaction upsetting. When we checked out he said they had made the mistake and we didn’t have to pay for the breakfasts although he did not apologise at all, did not thank us for staying, did not open the door for us although we had suitcases and simply said ‘see ya’. He couldn’t be more rude. Unfortunately he ruined our overall experience.

“Top location and great design, but make other plans for food”
+The staff were lovely and amazing. Very friendly and helpful. The location was incredible...so much life in this part of town. The rooms were really fun and the design details were great, so many lovely details. The rooms were very well equipped and the minibar snacks were a bonus
−The food options were so limited and there isn't something available at all times. This seems to be a trend with marriott hotels- food just isn't a priority. . The pool has no refreshments which is quite boring and a shame for such a great pool spot. One really simple one...there is no where to sit in reception and wait for your friends or your taxi.

“Great Boutique Style Hotel”
+Hotel Proverbs is a well situated and high-quality place to stay. The staff and service is top notch and left nothing to be desired for us. The location really can’t be beat, the area has hundreds of restaurants, pubs, shops and convenience stores within walking distance. It’s a very fun, bright, and active area for a tourist stay. Anything you need is within arm’s reach and the metro (brown and blue connection) is a 3-minute walk through the air-conditioned SOGO shopping center. For a general tourist stay, like ours, these lines offered easy access to anything we wanted to see within a simple connection or two and a few stops. Uber and taxi was also easy, air conditioned, and affordable for anywhere we wanted to go. Hotel itself is comparable to any 4-star hotel in the US. The onsite dinning is terrific; the 3rd floor bar is fun place to have a beer and get acclimated after a long day of travel. The pool offers exceptional views and a nice place to hang out. The room (premium 10th floor) was terrific and offered everything you’d expect. If you drink a lot of coffee the third floor has a public area to grab extra coffee and bottled water. “The best hotel in Taipei!”
+Beautiful, centrally located in a bustling commercial corridor (yet rooms are totally silent with black out curtains and beds are divine!). They make up the sofa as a bed for kids for a small and reasonable fee. Shower was one of the best we’ve ever experienced. Rooftop pool had incredible views and water was just the right temp. Service was exemplary as well. Zero notes

“Good location, cool hotel, but the setup is a bit weird. Not right for everyone.”
+The vibe is cool. the rooms are large. the location is good.
−First, no lobby! we learned at checkout about something on the 3rd floor. Is that a lobby? No one mentioned anything to us at checkin. There is literally not a single chair in the lobby. Second, one of our rooms had the bathroom when you first enter, as in, you enter through the bathroom. That is totally unacceptable if you and your partner or family member come in and out at different times. How do you ever know it's safe to come into the room? I would honestly never book again unless I was absolutely sure I had the other kind of room where the bathroom is set of (at least by a curtain, which is barely acceptable).

“Amazing hotel!”
+The staff went over and above to make our stay comfortable. Spud (the concierge) was an absolute pleasure and made our stay so memorable! The hotel is wonderful and we will absolutely come back again
