About this place

Hotel Joaquin is a petite 22-room resort in Laguna Beach, California, designed by Robert McKinley. Each of the 22 individually designed guest rooms is a personal retreat crafted with natural materials, hand-woven textiles, custom lighting and curated vintage pieces, reflecting the surrounding coastal landscape. Luxurious bathrooms feature monolithic imported stone offset by solid brass fixtures and hand-cut, crafted tile. All rooms feature Italian linens, Salt & Stone bath amenities, an in-room minibar and a record player. Guests enjoy complimentary morning coffee in the lobby, a heated pool, and an Adventure Outpost with bicycles, bodyboards and beach games, plus inventive ocean-inspired cocktails at Saline, the hotel's bar.

“Really nice for a change!”
+We loved this hotel! The staff is outstanding! The grounds are beautiful, spotless, quiet. There are 22 well designed rooms. Really cool vibe! Great music! bar, view, I can't say enough. So many special touches from the welcome cocktail to the late night homemade cookies! The double beds and umbrellas at the pool including sunscreen and water bowls to wash the sand from your feet. So well thought out! We will definitely be back!

“An amazing gem”
+The hotel Juaquin was an amazing find! Great value with a wonderful staff and a beautiful property. Conveniently located within walking distance to all Laguna Beach has to offer. Steps to Shaws Cove and local restaurants with convenient access to trolly stops. The amenities, lounge/bar and pool are fantastic. The resort fees include parking, breakfast and a delicious welcome drink. A true value to be had at this amazing gem!

“Getaway”
+My daughter and I stayed at Hotel Joaquin for 2 nights as a little getaway and absolutely loved it! We stayed in one of the King Ocean view rooms and literally had an ocean view from our bed! The breakfast was simple but really delicious. We spent the day by the pool and at the beach which is a five minute walk away. Restaurants and shops are a quick 20 minute walk but it is nice to be a little away from the crowds. The service at Hotel Joaquin was exceptional and everyone was so accommodating, kind and really made our stay special. I am already planning my next getaway at Hotel Joaquin!

“Boho Beach Vibe”
+Great little boho beach vibe location. Felt like we were part of the actual culture in Laguna Beach. Loved the sweet touches, especially the record player in the room with records.

“A wonderful place to unwind”
+Our stay at Hotel Joaquin was a wonderful and relaxing experiencing. The design was quiet and elevated and afforded peace and quiet. Eating breakfast in the quiet common area overlooking the ocean was peaceful. The staff was personable and endlessly helpful, and they have a great record collection. I enjoyed the separation from the rest of Laguna, which added to the serenity, but it had enough close amenities to keep it fun without having to hop in the car (Shaw’s Cove, Mercado for sundries, Guitar Shoppe, and the hamburger stand across the street were all highlights).

“Loved our stay at Hotel Joaquin!”
+My husband grew up in Laguna so we visit often and sometimes try to sneak away for a night or two for ourselves and the Hotel Joaquin was perfect for this. We loved the intimate size of the hotel and the decor. Everyone was so friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had a great visit. I loved that we had the option to get the resort fee or not. We choose to get it and are so glad we did b/c the breakfast was soooo good. And we loved that they have a little bar. The overall atmosphere was very chill and quiet but in a cozy way. Everyone just seems happy to be there. The pool was the perfect temp and we loved the huge loungers. The beds are super comfortable and we loved having a record player in our room. And the beach is just a couple blocks away. Just overall a fantastic stay! Thank you!

“Outstanding Hospitality”
+The staff made my trip worth repeating. Extremely hospitable. It was my first experience staying at a boutique hotel and now it will be where I exclusively stay when visiting Laguna.
