+Proximity to beach, ok value for money.
−The whole hotel is under maintenance. It feels quite abandoned and I must say on the creepy side. It just didn't feel comfortable for a solo traveller. No atmosphere and the pool was dirty. Bathroom and the room in general are dated. I truly believe the place has more potential, but you need to make it more cosy and welcoming. A bar with some music...something!

“Good value and location but on the shabby side.”
+Beds were super comfortable. Location was just across the street from access to a lovely beach, complete with showers. A 20- 30-minute walk got you to Manuel Antonio National Park. Good value.
−Rooms were dated and on the shabby side. Would have been greatly improved to have tea kettle and the ability to make coffee. "Locking" closet did not lock. Had to be careful to keep bathroom door from shutting completely or you couldn't get back in -- but also had to keep door as close to shut as possible to preserve A/C since there was a big hole to the outside. Construction during the day for the first few days of our stay was very disruptive and made it impossible to enjoy the pool.

“There are better places to stay”
+We actually asked for a refund as it really wasn't what we were expecting and so we went elsewhere.
−Unfortunately there was quite a bit that we didn't like. There was a steep slope to reception, where there were a car and bike parked like a garage forecourt. The reception area again was like a garage reception desk not what you'd expect from a hotel. You had to cross the road and walk along the road to get to the beach despite being near there was no near access. The beds were exceptionally soft, I don't think any of us would have had a comfortable night. The bathroom was very small. We asked for a refund and we moved to another hotel, actually directly across the road with direct beach access, pretty mosaics and much nicer rooms and hotel amenities.

“Good option close to the national park”
+Pool (not the cleanest though), location close to NP Manuel Antonio, very friendly and helpful staff.
−The hotel clearly underwent some substantial renovation while I stayed there - unfortunately, my room was not yet renovated and pretty ramshackle.
