“Prepare yourself if you come here with a car”
+Nothing. Just a big room but same expensive with some hotel nearby city . Clean.
−When you are CHECK IN , you need to look for the key box hiding somewhere. If you can not speak German it will be another problem. The free PARKING is shared with a Restaurant which is small chance to get. Located in an old nostalgic city , it will be hard to look for free parking unless you pay a parkhouse in the near by and with parking service house, there is limited time you can come and go. COMING WITH A CAR IS A PROBLEM STAYING IN THIS HOTEL.. THE STREET around the hotel is limited by 10 KM ( SPIELSTRASSE in German ) becarefull that you are not catched ( blitz photograph) and pay your fine if your speed above 10 km/hour.

“Disappointing. Not acceptable - even for the reasonable price.”
+The responsiveness of the owners and ability to communicate on WhatsApp which was the only option for me on my international phone. This is necessary anyway if you aren't even going to staff the reception. Bed not too uncomfortable when I remade it using the mattress topper found on top of the "wardrobe". Much more pleasant than first room with lighter woods, but furniture was bad on closer examination. Shower head, water pressure etc. good.
−First room 304 on 3rd floor, smelled of stale smoke and everything in there seemed stained or just brown. Moved me to 114. Still smelled a little, but not as bad as the 3rd floor. At the end of very scary corridor even though lights came on as you walk. Dogs barking. No hangers on the pseudo wardrobe (supplied later but shouldn't have needed to ask), tv the size of a basic monitor. When the missing remote was delivered, it was sticky and nasty. Seems like they tried to do some renovations on the cheap i.e. fb marketplace or side of the road furniture. Cheap sheet with holes on mattress directly made me want to go somewhere else even though I had paid, but then found mattress topper on top of "wardrobe" and remade the bed myself. Shower door was not worthy of a hotel. Strange sound through the water pipes that went right through the room (could have been other rooms flushing). Lots of banging of doors and bottles. No room safe, fridge, bedside table or kettle. Some dirt on bathroom floor that hadn't been cleaned on the day they came in. No tissues. Rooms not cleaned/garbage not emptied after 1st day (maybe only then because my room had been changed). I have stayed here years before

−This self-service hotel is placed in the centre of the city, so if you travel with the car, arrive late and your command of German is below average, there can be certain challenge with parking as free spaces will be occupied by the locals, but the rules for paid or temporary parking are un-clear at best.

“Nicht empfehlenswert”
+Es empfang uns ein völlig abgelebtes und unsauberes Hotel. Die Heizung ging nicht. Das Wasser lief im Waschbecken schlecht ab. Die Heizkörper angerostet. Die Gardinen fleckig und dreckig. Auf allen Ablagen befand sich Schmutz von Vorgängern, Glasränder und klebrige Reste. Der Teppich im Gang völlig abgetreten. Es ist nicht empfehlenswert. Von 4 anderen Zimmern haben wir das gleiche gehört. Auf meine E-Mail an die Hotelleitung habe ich keine Antwort bekommen.

“Mitten in Leimen und dennoch ruhig”
+Es war unkompliziert und perfekt für uns, da wir aufgrund einer Baumaßnahme eine Woche lang nicht zuhause wohnen konnten. Die Lage ist super und das Preis Leistungs Verhältnis auch.

“Ich kann das Hotel Baeren empfehlen, da es absolut dem Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis entspricht.”
+Die Lage ist sehr zentral, für mit der Bahn ankommende Personen toll geeignet - weniger für Autofahrer (s.u. bei "nicht gefallen") Das Zimmer war bei Ankunft sehr sauber, ist nett eingerichtet, sogar eine Sitzecke für zwei Personen mit kleinem Tisch. Ideal zum Kartenspielen, z.B. Sehr dankbar war ich, als ich auf Nachfrage einen kleinen Kühlschrank ins Zimmer gebracht bekam. Das war sehr nett. Die Kontaktaufnahme zu Herrn/Frau Kapoor war leicht, die Antworten kamen schnell.
−Die Parkplatzsituation ist äußerst unbefriedigend. Die vom Hotel beschrifteten Parkplätze wurden meistens von Fremden belegt, oft musste ich weit entfernt parken und nachts - wenn dann mal ein Parkplatz frei wurde - das Auto in die Nähe des Hotels holen. Bei unserem Aufenthalt (12.-16.10.2026) lief die Heizung nicht, es war kalt im Zimmer und im Bad. Außentemperatur zwischen 9 und 15 Grad. Zum Schlafen ok, zum Duschen und Waschen viel zu kalt. Die Heizung sollte erst nach unserer Abreise repariert werden.

“Wir würden auf jeden nochmal wieder kommen.”
+Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral in Leimen. Gut erreichbar. viele Möglichkeiten zur weiteen Beschäftigung (Essen, einkaufen, etc.) in unmittelbarer Nähe. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist sehr gut.
−Das Hotel ist sehr hellhörig. Wir hörten Stimmen und Geräusche aus anderen Zimmern. Auch der Fahrstuhl war zu hören. Das Hotel bzw. die Ausstattung ist etwas "altbacken", dafür aber sauber und gepflegt. Im Verhältnis zum Preis darf man kein hochmodernes, top ausgestattetes Hotel erwarten. Das Hotel bzw. das Zimmer hat aber alles, was man für ein paar Tage benötigt.
