−The property charged me twice for my stay and refuse to answer any emails / messages / calls to refund me for this stay. It is a lot of money and wayyy too much for the quality of this hotel. Avoid!

“Triangle of hotel sadness in Monterey”
+Comfortable bed and that was about it.
−"Where to start? First, the staff was horrible and possessed zero customer service skills, the receptionist was the absolute worst. They tried to put us in a room on the first floor next to the service area, despite us specifically requesting not to be placed there in our booking. When we asked to change rooms, the receptionist proceeded to lecture us on room sizes and categories. The room itself smelled musty and had to be aired out. The continental breakfast was sad, unappetizing, and couldn't cure hunger. On top of that, the bathroom was dirty, complete with stray hair in the bathtub. But hey, at least we got wine vouchers, though I had zero interest in them, and reception couldn't even explain how they worked! When checking out, the clerk simply took our keys and emailed the receipt, not even asking a simple 'How was your stay?'."

“hotel was very nice but the fact that there was absolutely no air conditioning killed the visit.”
+it’s a beautiful property it was a last minute trip and very easy to book.
−the air conditioning did not work and it was very hot and very uncomfortable in our room all night. it was extremely hot outside last night and we were sooooo hot in the room. it was mentioned when we checked out and we were told no one had working ac last night it wasn’t just us. so we basically roasted all night in our room. and oh well!

“Did not warrant its star rating, was a very disappointing stay.”
+Good location with pool and hot tub
−Breakfast was awful. Very limited choice and gelatinous eggs which were disgusting. No one to greet guests at breakfast and you had to clear away yourself. Rooms were not cleaned and towels replaced unless you requested it. Bins in room not emptied. Decor in room very tired and bed linen old and threadbare in places.

−The sink was not draining on our arrival, we notified the staff, we were told it would be fixed. No follow up afterwards and nobody came. It was looking disgusting. We were not offered to change the room either.

“Quality stay, but you do pay for it.”
+Clean and very quiet. Centrally located. Comfortable bed. Spacious room. Decent free breakfast. Free parking.
−The guy who checked us in seemed like he was having a bad day. Fridge in room was small and didn’t work well. A little pricey.
