“It was good value for money, the people were very helpful but a little out of the way.”
+This accommodation felt very authentic, the owners were lovely and told us recommendations of place to go and things to do that weren't 'touristy', which we love. We didn't use the communal kitchen area but it was well equipped and clear.
−We chose the room with the 'city views' but it was more of a view of a big main road, which the accommodation is on. Our room was a little fusty, we did see into another room when they had checked out and that looked nicer than ours, maybe choose the room with the 'courtyard view'. The location is a bit out of the way, it was our first time in Kyoto so we didn't know the city, this isn't the fault of the accommodation but I would stay more central next time.

+This place is incredible! It is a 5-10 minute walk away from the major train line in Kyoto, making the general area quiet, safe, and feel very homey. There are great restaurants nearby, a lot of cheap laundromats, and a variety convenience stores are available too in the neighbourhood. The place is well-kept, really traditional style, and quiet through the reasonable rules established at the house. Common spaces (like kitchen or the living room) are neat and user-friendly. Wish we stayed here longer! Will be back in the future!
−We needed to pay something like tourist tax when we arrived in cash. Not necessarily to complain, but rather for you to be prepared to pay that when you arrive. But otherwise, nothing to not like! :)

−Rien ....

+The owner was so kind and open-minded. We asked him about Kyoto, and he gave us a personalized itinerary for our first day. It was amazing! Our room was clean, and we had everything we needed in the bathroom (soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash). The temperature in the room was perfect thanks to the air conditioning. We could hear our neighbours, but it wasn’t a big problem because everyone respected the quiet hours. Thanks a lot! If we’re ever in Kyoto again, we’ll definitely stay here!
−It was a little far from the Kyoto station, which made getting to the main attractions less convenient. But we had a perfect bus stop close to the hostel.
