“Good short-term option for €40/room/night”
+This accommodation has a bad reputation which is only partially justified. We managed to book a room on very short notice for €40 a night on a busy weekend in popular Prague. Initially this was only for two beds in a dorm, but as the booking had apparently been screwed up they upgraded us to the entire dorm, which meant that we had a six-beds room for ourselves, which was a very pleasant surprise. Or in other way, we got a good deal. The hostel mostly provides long-term accommodation for Ukrainian refugees and workers. While the surroundings are pretty scary, the hostel itself is OK and clean. The bathroom is on the ground floor and there is only one facility shared by all the women. The staff was friendly and really made an effort to keep the place shipshape. The Wifi was actually great!
−The location of Abex is in an abandoned railway freight terminal in Žižkov, and the surroundings are really as bad as this sounds. Great if you're a fan of apocalyptic and dystopic movies, not so hot for everybody else. Definitely not recommended for single female travelers, at night even I was very cautious.

“Okay for budget travel.”
+The staff was really kind and helpful. Checking in and out was easy.
−The location was far from everything and really scary to go to at night. Other people were super loud and just watching us. We had a shared kitchen but there weren’t anything.. like pans/plates/silverware.

−It's dangerous there. Gypsies stay there. This is the most horrible place I've ever been. I came, looked and left. It's not safe.
