5.0−No heating available, messaged but no response from host when asking for warmth. Information misleading. The pub isn't open, you don't see anyone so all done by message. Parking is an issue as on main road through so time restrictions on parking.

5.0−On arrival on the Saturday afternoon we let ourselves in, somebody had left the bedroom window open and the floor was like a lake as it had been raining all morning, contacted the owners who told us to try another room. (Keys are in key safes outside) Eventually got another room. Smoke alarms were triggered at 5.00 Sunday morning by a guest having a shower. We had to ring 999 as no staff were present on the premises. The guest that had triggered the alarms left while we were outside waiting for the fire brigade. It was 6.30 before we were allowed back in. The fire brigade tried contacting the owners but on first attempt they hung up, second attempt they left a voice mail to inform them that they had attended the property and everything was safe for us to return inside. I would have expected at least a courtesy call to make sure as paying guests we were ok but we never heard a thing. We were supposed to stay til Monday but left on Sunday morning. I did contact the owners to let them know but have yet to receive a reply. For anybody booking thinking that the Red lion next door is open, it isn't it closed in July. Definitely will not be returning or recommending

8.0“Lovely location, room clean and basic but needs a bit more attention.”
+Harlech was lovely. Room was basic but clean. Ok for one or two nights but no more.
−Mattress was awful, could feel the springs. Broken toilet seat and not enough toilet paper provided. No toiletries except hand wash. Was given the wrong code twice to get in which was a bit frustrating after a long drive. Took owner a few calls before they answered.

+A grand old mansion house set in woods. It has a parrot in reception. Pleasant grounds.

4.0“Disappointed”
+Very good shower
−No ceiling lights working, you couldn't watch the TV from the bed because of the positioning of it. No batteries in the remote so we bought some and the tv didn't work !!!. I sent 2 messages to the property owners with no reply to either. Maybe needs a couple of chairs to be able to watch TV when it works.

8.0“Beds were comfy and room was clean on arrival, but don’t expect it to feel like a guesthouse.”
+Great location for day-tripping to NorthWest Wales, the Llyn Peninsula and Eryri National Park. Room was clean on arrival and beds were comfy. Very friendly locals, good options for eating within walking g distance.
−Parking is very challenging. The property is on a very steep hill with no parking onsite, and limited availability of free roadside parking with restricted hours. The property had no seating facilities in the rooms or communal space. The pub shown in the photos is closed down, and we were not made aware of this before arrival. We stayed 3 nights and there was only half a loo roll provided and initial tea/coffee for the first night. Felt more like self-catering but without the ability to lounge or cater.

7.0“Room was comfortable, but there were a few issues.”
+The room was very comfortable and the location in Harlech is very nice with a warm and welcoming feeling. Castle Harlech being very close by is nice as well.
−Unfortunately during our stay there was no WiFi. Also very little toilet roll, we had to buy our own. Finally the bar is closed, but there is a pub less than a minute walk away, so that resolves that.

8.0“Clean comfortable property in a good location and good value for money”
+Great location in the heart of Harlech. Good sized room, comfortable bed plus clean bathroom with a decent shower
−Shame the pub is closed as it makes the property look very unappealing from the outside. Not sure how thick the walls are between the rooms but we could hear the occupants of the next room every time they moved around in their room. Very creaky floor. Had to chase the owner for the key safe code and room number literally 15 minutes before we arrived at the property as they are not on site to check you in
