“We appreciated that the room was clean and available and it was a good price for a busy season.”
+Convenient to eating establishment and to Door County. Receptionist was helpful. Tv, Microwave, coffeemaker and refrigerator in room. We had handicap room which was lower level and walk in shower.
−The room had a small table and two dining chairs. Would have liked a reclining chair as husband has to sit up at times at night. Also, the website asked if we wanted to upgrade to a water view which we didn’t do, but there was no good view of the water. It was a busy weekend so there were hardly any rooms available anywhere and I booked in Algoma about three to four weeks ahead of time and the facility was full when we stayed.

−I wasn't able to request a room on the first floor for my husband's handicap. Not enough handicap parking area. Had to park by the bar in front.

“I had a horrible experience at this motel”
+Just the location
−The room was horribly musty to the point where I left the facility during the middle of the night on my first night. The carpeting was old, ceiling tiles in the bathroom were hanging loose and ready to fall, the room could not be darkened because of the old white plastic shades.

“I'd stay at this dated little motel in a beautiful location with very friendly staff again.”
+It was run by nice people. It's obviously an old building but they do a good job. Little tiny bit funky, but it was affordable and had an easy check in.
−The sink counter was kind of child height. I'm 5'6 and it was noticeably low even for me.

“Very nice stay, great location!”
+Room was very nice, clean and on the water. As an added plus, a wonderful little bakery is right around the corner. Old time- hometown bakery!!!!

“Old but clean, nothing to write home about.”

−Older hotel. Smelled old, but everything looked clean except the shower. Location seemed safe. Got back to room late and all parking was gone, had to park on the street. Cute bar across the street playing music loud at night. It didn't bother us, but just as an FYI for anyone that might not want that. Expected more for the price. Not the worst place but not the best. Will try a different place next time I visit Algoma.

+Location was close to restaurants & downtown. 20 min away from Sturgeon Bay.
−Hotels are out dated & smell like mold. Looks like some are updated but since we booked through a third party they gave us the older ones. I have an allergy to mold and was afraid I was going to have to leave . I booked a third party they said it was going to be hard to get a refund. They did give me a different room. Was a bit better . But it didn't have & thing for mildew in the room.
