+Had such a great stay here. It’s like a mini safari lodge, had the towerhouse room looking over the river. Loved the jungle shower, it feels very local and authentic. Incredible views along the river for sunset. Amazing coffee as well! The guys that run it are all so helpful, booked safari through them. Dharmik was amazing when there was lots of issues with flooding and my flight back to Katmandu was cancelled, helped me book taxis, transfers and an extra night at the lodge. As a solo traveller it was really comforting to have someone so helpful, kind and generous with their time when in a slightly stressful situation. Would really recommend 🙂 thanks so much!

+I loved the location and the atmosphere. Dharmik and his team are so welcoming. He makes you feel at home and relaxed. He arranged a 3 night walking Safari for me with the best guides. Truly a gem of a place in Sauraha. Also loved the "jungle shower" 😁

+The Happy Lemon Tree has an incredible location with stunning views of the river. The accommodation is basic like a rustic Robinson Crusoe style camp... these are the reasons we chose to book the Happy Lemon Tree. However, the camp has been neglected. It is run down, dilapidated and one can feel the lack of love for the space. The swimming pool had no water in the pool which was a huge disappointment for us as this was also one of our main reasons for booking the Happy Lemon Tree. The owner was terribly under-staffed due to the holidays,yet tried his best to make the best of the situation. However, one can sense that the maintenance issues and general upkeep of the place has been neglected for a while. The lodge has enormous potential with a little attention...creating beautiful gardens, some basic upgrades...(new bamboo in the bathroom)and general cleanup, making sure the pool is clean, offering a nutritious meal per day, etc would make a big difference. I have to add that the coffees and fresh juices were absolutely amazing 👏

−I am not really happy about writing this review because location was beautiful and staff was friendly towards me. Unfortunately once I entered my room I immediately saw bed bugs crawling over the bed. I understand it can happen in such a busy touristic place. However once I checked under the mattress I could see no one ever cleaned that bed. Sheets were very dirty. They showed me another room on different tree so I told myself it will be ok, its far away from the insected one. The room was very simple, same as the other one but clean and tidy. So I was happy with the solution untill they told me I have to pay double the price for this room. I don´t reallly see the point of paying more because the room is clean compare the other one. All of them should be clean! Other thing is that they acted like bed bugs are not such a big deal. So I don´t believe they tried to get rid of them. Just be aware. The possitive side is they refunded my money, no anger, they were polite.

“A truly wonderful, rustic riverside retreat”
+One of my favourite places I’ve stayed! Food was incredible, yoga deck for personal practice was beautiful and the natural swimming pool and view is breathtaking in the morning! I found the staff to be friendly, a group of younger friends running it so it’s casual but I liked this.
−I think it could feel cleaner, I had a private bathroom but it was used by other people and was not clean on arrival or cleaned daily. Also, wasn’t a problem but it’s still under renovation so there are a lot of workmen around.

+Es war wunderschön am Fluss gelegen. Das Personal war sehr hilfreich beim Planen der Weiterreise. Es gab einen sehr leckeren Cappuccino, super leckeres oatsmuesli. Und sogar eine warme Dusche, auch wenn man sie nicht unbedingt braucht. Und sehr liebenswerte Hunde
−Hellhörig durch die Bauweise der Hütten, also abhängig wer neben einem wohnt.

+Die Lange ist einfach spektakulär. Man kann vom Pool und Zimmer aus Nashörner, Krokodile und Elefanten beobachten!
