“Beautiful property, most cabins are for glamping.”
+Truly beautiful location with a river that runs through the property. Great restaurant on site with free breakfast which is delicious. The owners were so kind and very attentive.
−This is glamping, which I was not expecting based on the property description. It is somewhat open to the outside (a curtain covers a large open 'window'). The main problem with this is that you really need to have lights out by the time it is dark out, which was by 6:30pm, otherwise the bugs are in your room pretty quickly. It is also a sheet metal roof with no insultation, so during the frequent rainstorms it is incredibly loud.

“Perfect Costa Rica retreat”

+This place is truly magical. Hidden in the rainforest, it is simple, charming, and absolutely fantastic. You can listen to the sounds of the forest, observe animals, and even spot a sloth. What makes it even more special are the owners. Giovanni and his family are wonderful people,we feel so happy to have met them. We spent five nights at Guapote Lodge, which gave us time for deeper conversations and a truly meaningful experience. They are such warm and genuine people. The food is absolutely amazing as well! Thank you for everything,we highly recommend this place!
−We recommend adding some hangers or a wall rack for wet clothes.

−It wasn't clear that it was glamping - I thought it was a cabin. I didn't mind but felt it could have been clearer. That meant the price was a touch higher than I would have paid for glamping!

+Absolutely stunning accommodation , in the middle of nature. Great breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. The host is absolutely attentive , helpful. He showed us sloth locations and gave us some tips. The rooms are very clean , nicely smelling towels. The lady who made us breakfast was so nice and tried to Google translate all her questions for us as we don't speak Spanish. Definitels recommend.

+We had fantastic days at Guapata Lodge. The standard is admittedly very simple, but the location, the nature, and the hospitality are amazing. Giovanni showed us sloths in the branches right above our heads. He gave us the very best tips on what we should see, called his contacts and arranged activities for us even though we were far too late, and he was always present in a way that truly made an impression. The highlight of our stay was New Year’s Eve 2025. When we entered the lodge restaurant that evening, Giovanni and his family had surprisingly decorated the entire place. A table was reserved for us, extra waitstaff had been hired, and a DJ played music for dancing, sing-alongs, and competitions. We will never forget this evening, which was full of joy and warmth,and we will never forget Giovanni.

+Ein besonderer Ort, der uns gut gefallen hat. Bei Regen empfehlen wir die Häuschen statt der Glampingzelte zu nehmen. Das Frühstück war fantastisch.
−Die Zelte sind bei starkem Regen nicht ideal. Ein paar Haken zum Aufhängen von nasser Kleidung wären sinnvoll.
