“If this was a charity shelter for those who have no home I would maybe rate it a low 3 for effort.”
+There was parking at the Greenhead Hotel across the street which appeared to be owned by the same person. The outside of the building looked nice in the picture.
−Avoid staying here at all costs. Poor maintenance, Women's washroom - no soap for three days, men's washroom worn, unclean. Washroom stalls were like closets, lighting was by motion sensor. One sink room had a broken sensor hanging from ceiling. On the floor with "family" rooms the bath tub/shower was out of order. While we were there I read a survey that claimed the same thing from four weeks before. The laundry room was a mud room with one washer. I could not find any light switches for the rec room. Our "family" room for four had two windows that were installed not to open. Doors were covered with hand prints. The community kitchen - oh my!

+It was convenient for us walking the wall
−My older sister found the bed uncomfortable, however i thought it was fine Shared showers needed a clean, we gave them a miss, but passable. Fire doors quite noisy

“Wished I had stayed at the Hotel instead of the Hostel.”
+The Hostel & Hotel are run by the same people. The Hotel, where I got my meals, was very smart, and the staff were friendly.
−The Hostel seemed quite run down and a bit grubby. The automatic lights were broken in the toilets and one of the two showers wasn't working. And the toilet in the boot room was also out of action.

+Am not sure there’s a lot to say about this one, I’m hoping there doing it up as it wasn’t nice No staff in the hostel and I thought I was the only one in there but I shared the place with 2 others Room decor and furnishings old and tatty Didn’t use showers as they looked awful and there was a man in the ladies as the men’s were broke - no one told me this ! I wouldn’t bother for longer then 1 day unless you can get in the hotel across the road
−Sorry everything about it , once some money spent on it , it could be nice

“Unpleasant. Dirty, run-down accommodation. Staff were friendly enough though.”
+The location was ideal.
−The whole place was dirty and run down. Bedrooms were filthy, dated and just very unpleasant to sleep in. The power kept tripping and the showers were leaking and most of them out of order. Staff ok, but not really that bothered. Think the owners are focussing on the hotel, which I get, but the hostel is very neglected. We were happy to leave the place and non of our party enjoyed being there.

“Cycling with friends”
+This was a cheap option cycling on the route 72, feels a bit like a camp you would go to in school but this was what I was expecting. Needs a bit of TLC but does the job. Spent most of the time in the sister pub over the road. Ideal if you want cheap accommodation right on cycle route 72.
