“Good, quiet stay with a friendly host”
+The host, Paula, was very good at providing information about check in, and was there to meet me in person. She seems to live on the lower floor of the property but I didn't see or hear her during my stay apart from when I checked in. The facilities were good (shower, etc.), the rooms a good size and the bed comfortable. There was an excellent terrace attached to my room that would have been great for sitting outside on summer evenings, but the temperature and weather weren't conducive to my using it during my stay. The location is within walking distance of both the city centre and the Massarelos district with some university buildings and the excellent Bom Sucesso market.
−While the location was well-placed in the city, it was hard to find the apartment at first. Part of the problem is that online maps show it as being on a different street than it is, where in reality it's on a much smaller street up and behind the one the maps show. This is not the fault of the owner/property though. The only thing I can think that would have made the rooms better was a more comfortable chair for sitting and a slightly larger table/desk on which one could work on a laptop.

“A cosy place with a very nice host”
+A very cosy place for a good price. I had a nice room with easy access to a terrace and a fully-equipped kitchen. Paula, the host, is very friendly and responsive. She was also flexible about check-in and check-out times.

“A very pleasant stay and excellent value for money. I would highly recommend the Green House when visiting Porto.”
+The Green House is situated on a narrow and steep road in a beautiful location and easy access to the main part of the city and other landmarks (eg The Super Bock Arena). The layout of the property is very nice with each suite having access to raised open patio area, ideal for relaxing with some beers or wine under the sun. I was met by Paula who was very helpful and welcoming when I arrived. She showed me that guests also have access to a nice kitchen for cooking etc. My own suite was very comfortable with a bathroom and walk-in shower.
−I cannot say there is anything I disliked about the property. I would maybe warn people with mobility issues that this is on quite a steep hill and to suggest travelling by uber (although some cars might have difficulty accessing the property). However, this is likely to be the case with practically any hotels/apartments in Porto, considering the city is largely built on a hill. All my friends that were staying locally in various hotels, experienced very tiring uphill walks to the main part of the city.

+We booked the two rooms which allows combining them into a mini-flat with terrace. Lack of AC could be an issue in the hotter months, but wasn’t for us.

“A opportunity to live like a local in Porto”
+The authenticity of being in an actual Portuguese home - not a tourist place. The friendliness of host Paula who was welcoming and considerate
−The place was difficult to get to by taxi - narrow cobbled streets and cul-de-sac. Taxi driver had difficulty locating the correct route to the property, but once there pedestrian access was great.

+Accueil chaleureux de Paula. Qui se débrouille en français! Chambre confortable, salle de bain et jolie terrasse. Emplacement idéal, proche du centre, à pied ou en bus. Au bord du Douro, un café pour le petit-déjeuner et un resto pour le dîner. Et sur la ligne du tram 1 pour aller à la plage.

+Paula ist sehr gastfreundlich und hilfsbereit. Anfragen werden sehr schnell beantwortet. Sehr ruhige Lage. Aus dem Zentrum / der Altstadt sehr gut zu Fuss oder mit dem Bus erreichbar.

“Schöne, ruhige Zimmer”
+Paula war sehr freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit. Die Unterkunft ist sehr ruhig gelegen. Wir konnten sehr gut schlafen.
