8.0“Chaotic hotel, fab glacier”
+We stayed as a family of four travelling from the UK. This was a real ‘bucket list’ hotel for me, so I’d overlooked the high price and the inconvenience of not being able to book a room until January. Overall, I’m glad we visited but it really does fall short and it’s certainly not luxurious. First the practicalities - located across from 5 glaciers and right on the Ice Field parkway, there are very few alternative accommodations in the area. There is one building which comprises a visitors centre and gift shop on the ground floor, restaurants on the first floor and hotel on floor 3. Parking is on site and you’ll be given a code for the barrier on the right hand side as you approach. Unfortunately rooms are fairly basic and dated. There was no promised concierge to assist with luggage at the car park if we arrived between 4-6pm (we arrived at 5pm). Our Dyson hairdryer didn’t work and staff were unable to locate a replacement, instead giving me an old hairdryer without a styling nozzle. Stairs down to the restaurant resembled a service staircase rather than something guests would be expected to use (stained with drinks and spilled food). The staff are all young, overseas staff worki

8.0“Great view of the glacier”
+This hotel is very expensive and the overall service should be better. Meet and greet was unorganized. Rooms unavailable upon the check in time of 4pm and over an hour before rooms were ready. Only one employee was terrific and if not for Kyler my review would be less than very good.

10.0“Great Hotel with Wonderful Views”
+We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lodge which is located right next to the athabasca glacier. We are so glad we chose to stay here instead of driving up from banff. We were able to enjoy the full days of visit to the icefield as well as the skywalk. The view of the glacier from the lobby is The lodge has a spacious restaurant with wide variety of items as well as a fine dining facility. There was a coffee machine in the lobby with latte, hot chocolate and expresso options. The rooms were very clean, spacious and well furnished. The staff was very friendly and professional. We would like to give special thanks to Chekina who was helping with check-in. She was courteous, patient and understanding and ensured that we .

4.0“Not worth it.”
+For $600/nt (or more) I expect a lot from a hotel. Glacier View did not deliver. From first impressions to last, this place was not a luxury experience, or even a convenient one. First, the good: the room was very nice, quiet, with great views and high-end features like Dyson appliances, luxurious bath items, a Nespresso machine, smart TV, and even a set of binoculars. Also, the hotel lobby is gorgeous and comfortable. The staff is friendly and eager, and we loved the daily afternoon reception with cocktails and charcuterie. Now the bad: The parking situation is a pain. The guest entry is not well labeled (looks like a restricted area you’re not supposed to be in, and in fact it is: hotel guests share a lot with the tour buses, and have to walk past all the tour bus lanes, gift shop, and jam-packed visitor center to get to their rooms). The hotel also shares an elevator with the visitor center, and (of course) all the restaurants. In fact, apart from your own room’s restroom, the only toilet in the building is shared with hundreds of bus tour patrons. But the madness isn’t limited to the tour areas. During our stay, The hotel corridors were always full of trash, laundry, and housek

4.0“Smelly”
+The only reason I would recommend staying here is for the convenience of having the Skywalk and Glacier tour included, especially outside of peak crowds. Aside from that, I’d honestly suggest just driving past. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to expectations. The rooms , and really the entire building , had a strong smell reminiscent of a food processing facility, which was quite off-putting. Check-in was also frustratingly slow, taking over an hour, and the staff weren’t particularly accommodating. Our room didn’t face the glacier, which was disappointing given the location. On a positive note, the beds were very comfortable , easily the highlight of our stay. The restaurant was also very underwhelming. Across both dinner and breakfast, most plates at our table were barely touched. It’s possible we caught them on an off night, but overall, it wasn’t a place I’d be in a hurry to return to.

8.0“Excellent apart from the confusing payment deposit system.”
+Location and the available tours
−The reception staff were poorly trained and unable to explain the booking and payment system, which included the tour and the deposit. We are still waiting for an itemized bill, as it seems we paid more than we expected. We were not alone when we were checking in everyone else had the same query as to how the payment made on arrival was broken down

10.0“Great place to stay when experiencing the Icefields.”
+This is a nice hotel. It has a very small lobby on the 3rd floor where the rooms are. We got a corner room that overlooks the Icefields. It appears like a newly renovated room. Has a safe, coffee machine, refrigerator. Comfortable bedding, large bathroom. I would definitely stay here again in this same room. The downside of staying here is its on top of the discovery center which is loud and very very busy. But the 3rd floor rooms are very quiet at night. The other thing are the restaurants. The sit down Altitude restaurant and Chalet opens late for breakfast, even Starbucks. As a hotel guest, I would expect at least one place to open at least at 6 am. Bring your own container for tap water in the chalet or they charge for a cup. Really??

10.0“Fabulous, Fun, Relaxing. Loved the visit. great sight. great personnel.”
+My husband and I booked a room for one night during our June visit to the Canadian Rockies. it was fabulous! . I could talk about the great placement (on the way between Jasper and Lake Louise), and the rooms (bright, clean, beautifully appointed, and the sights (the Skyway, (a walk out above the terrain), and the Glacier (to which we were brought by Special snowmobile bus and had time to walk on). But what really made this place special were the people behind the venue. Sam the area manager, along with Heidi, in the tour section helped initially with some concerns that we needed clarified before we could arrive. Sam was incredibly calming and thoughtful and connected us with whom we ultimately needed to speak with. Vanessa (area manager of the hotel) was unbelievable as she as she reached out to us and followed up with our concerns . She made the whole visit relaxing and fun. One of the questions we had were food allergies and Vanessa alerted the kitchen and then each staff we came into contact with at the restaurant was able and ready to help us. The tours itself, with the tour guides (Malachi and Kilan (Sp)> were great in explaining the glacier, the vehicles, the surrounding are

10.0“Lovely hotel at the right spot with an amazing view”
+We loved the view. We loved the room size and facilities The only problem was that it was quite noisy and we could hear guests coming and going and opening doors. Our room was right next to the elevator too. The free snacks and cocktail was the best I have seen in a while.
−Noise that you hear of guests in their rooms and in the passage.
