“A $450/night nightmare: filthy rooms, insects, terrible food, and shocking hidden charges. Absolutely not worth the”

−An absolutely unacceptable experience, especially at $450 per night. 1. Terrible facilities: Everything was extremely outdated and poorly maintained. The windows looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in years, and the room had a persistent musty, moldy smell. 2. Insects everywhere: There were numerous bugs in our room, and we eventually had to catch and remove them ourselves. Completely unacceptable. 3. Poor hygiene: The bedsheets and pillowcases did not appear properly cleaned. Basic cleanliness standards were simply not met. 4. Terrible food: Portions were ridiculously small, and the ingredients appeared to be extremely cheap and low-quality. 5. Misleading pricing: This was perhaps the most unacceptable part. The amount paid through Booking.com was NOT the final price. At checkout, we were asked to pay an additional amount equivalent to ONE-THIRD of the original Booking.com price. This means the price shown on Booking.com represented only 75% of the actual total cost. Such a significant additional charge should have been clearly disclosed upfront. 6. Outrageous value for money: The facilities and overall quality were comparable to those of a budget hotel costing less than $100 per

“Super pleasant stay!”
+Greatly located in a quiet town close to Kamikochi. Easily accessible by bus. The ryokan has a really nice onsen, which we could enjoy almost privately as there were no other guests. And the hosts were so kind, with amazing service and great food served during our stay.

+A really special stay more than just a place to sleep. The onsen in the room was perfect. Dinner was spectacular, one of the highlights of our trip. The staff were kind and helpful. We’d love to come back.

“Everything we've dreamed of from a traditional ryokan!”
+The room was super agreable, the private bath was amazing, the food was delicious, the hosts were very sweet, the place is exquisite! We had a wonderful moment at Furusato. Definitely one of the best hotel we've been at.

“Relaxing and spa in Japanese Alps”
+Traditional living in Japan with your own Onsen and futon bed (beside standard beds) and the food was incredible experience for my life - but I was interested in this old Japan 🇯🇵😍 No light pollution at night and no noise at all- I cannot remember having slept like this - but be aware that the location is off the busy world

“Not worth the Money”

−Not worth the money. The onsen was not functional and my room had big insects coming in; I came only for the onsen and paid so much but the staff informed me when the option for free cancellation was over. The rooms looked clean but had this musty odour. The breakfast was good but not satiating,

+Best dinner that I had, by far. Breakfast was also good. Has Onsen but you need to go baked.
−The Onsen from outside was not functioning, but was reported previously. It is really far away from everything, even by bus it's a pain to go there with big bags..
