1.0“The hotel was dirty. Our rooms lacked basic facilities and the bathrooms were disgusting.”
+Breakfast was OK
−The room was dark and dismal. It needed a an intensive spring clean. It wasn't a room you wanted to linger in.

2.0“Would not stay there again, dangerous”
+The sheets were clean, hot water
−The property was unkept, not clean, the walls in one of our bedroom was mouldy, water running down the walls. The window in one bedroom could be open by pulling the window, this was a low window a child could pull it open and fall out of the upstairs window. The tiles in the bathroom was broken . And left sharp could hurt someone. Mould and dirty shower

7.0“Good value for a short stay”
+Nice clean room with plenty of tea and coffee available. There is a gym available but given we were just there for a one night stay we did not have the time to try it out. Lady at reception was very pleasant. House and setting are stunning. Reasonable rate compared to the competition.
−There is a bar but it was closed. No food on site although you can order in. The house is lovely but not very warm - keeping a place like this warm is probably expensive. Once under our duvets we were fine.

1.0+Outside of the building .
−Curtain hanging off. Patio door did close. Shower was disgusting ,black mould in the door frame. No staff onside after 7 pm so couldn't talk to them about the state of the place . Breakfast there was no coffee and croissants were hard. So ended up leaving without having any breakfast as there was nobody around to ask for help the whole place feels very unloved and quite neglected. We walked around to see the pool gym and sauna the poor with closed up the gym was thick with dust and the sauna you wouldn't want to sit in it. the surrounding areas are full of Brambles and ivy had taken over the Garden's it was a very sad looking place. So sad because the house itself is very beautiful but it's all overgrown and looks a bit like a rundown hostel. There is no way it was worth 90 pounds I'd say 45 at a push. I did look at the reviews before I left but I thought that maybe it was over exaggeration it certainly wasn't..

4.0+Convenient and cheap, Its a classic old country house that has been converted into a hotel many years ago and has unfortunatly been left to go and is in need of updating.
−Brekfast was minimal

7.0“It's just acceptable as a bed,”
+The building is stunning, built in 1831 this grand 2 listed building from the outside looks amazing, I wish it had been kept as one big amazing building but it was split in two which is how you have the hotel and the private house attached. As you go through the building you see the history in some of the rooms and gosh looks fantastic, the rest of the hotel leaves a bit to be desired carpet that doesn't fit the walls it's a shame really. The beds are ok but should have a mattress protector fitted.
−The cleaning leaves a lot to be desired, I did not want to use the shower as it was thick with gunk and mold in the grout, round the wash basin was dirty and dusty and the floor didn't look like it had seen a mop in a while. The kettle still had water in it and lots of black bits as if someone had tried to make a cup of tea in the kettle so I had to clean that out. We could not use the glasses as you could see they had not been cleaned and you could still see lip marks and finger prints on them. The breakfast was a continental option but we could not have that as there was no provision for celiacs which I had told them while booking but nothing was said. There is very little to no lighting round the building which while not a deal breaker could be better. I know this is a 2 star place but cleaning should be at the top of the list. You can see that some efforts have been made like some painting has been done but not finished and when I say not finished I mean half a door frame stopped half way through. Fit mattress protectors and some firm pillows please

7.0“relaxing :)”
−breakfast to improve, coming in uk, people look for English breakfast, and better to add more staff because people where waiting for food while already being in the restaurant and it was not ready so upsetting , i think better to have coffee machine because it tastes better, we all need morning strong coffee .thank you
