“Like staying at the Overlook hotel.”
+Pleasant riverside location.
−No welcome on arrival, had to ring bell twice, then on searching found the host playing pool. Were then told we would be on our own all night in the whole building, but the single member of staff (host/owner?) lived nearby so would come if we rang the doorbell. There is a bar/lounge area which was closed and empty, no facilities at all. Room was very small, certainly not luxury, tiny tv, and the bathroom door would not even close properly. We drove the 10 mins or so to Banchory to find a bar and rather than return to an empty, mostly closed guest house, we actually booked a hotel room in Banchory, which was nicer, and a third of the price. We returned in the morning for breakfast, which was decent, but small. We then returned to our room to pack, then had to once again ring the doorbell and go looking for the host who had disappeared (without clearing our breakfast table). He eventually arrived in his car when we were outside, told us just to leave the key at reception, then left again without ever getting out his car... A very disappointing experience, and certainly not worth anything like the £144 price. Can not recommend.

“Attractive and comfortable bed and breakfast in a beautiful rural setting.”
+This is an attractive bed and breakfast in a beautiful rural setting close to towns and attractions in the area. The rooms were large, and bathrooms were clean. It had plenty of parking space. The breakfast was outstanding, and there was a large lounge with a pool table for gathering in the evening.
−The outlets in the room were not nearby the nightstands.

+We stayed one night as I was doing an event at the nearby knockburn loch. We had a lovely comfortable stay in a lovely clean room. The owner Rob made us feel very welcome and was so accommodating in arranging an early breakfast. Even made the effort to enthusiastically cheer me on as I cycled past the guest house during the race
