+It offered a room for the night. Tick. There was a bed in it. Tick. It even had electric lighting. Tick.
−Tried to communicate in advance with query re parking but email quoted on booking got no reply. Tried phoning in advance: not picked up. I confirmed an arrival time of 7.30pm. At 7.30pm exactly I arrived and I followed the instruction on the door of knocking on it. No reply. After several attempts I tried phoning a poorly written note on the door suggesting that, if no answer, I dial the number I had tried earlier. This produced a response from a lady who could speak only limited English but told me to wait. (For what?: Not clear). A few minutes later a car drew up and the lady climbed out. She opened the front door of the guest house, showed me the room and the (shared) bathroom toilet on a different floor. This contained one small hand towel. She then disappeared. I was asked to drop the key the next day in the letter box. She answered my query about parking which I just about understood but the information was wrong. I had to pay cash in advance. No card accepted.

+The best thing about the property was that it was easily accessible.
−The room was filthy, the bins were empty but the liners obviously reused, dust bunnies were EVERYWHERE! The sheets weren’t clean either, the host was unfriendly and a nightmare to communicate with, the contact number on the door belongs to a guy in Scotland! And the host will let herself in your room at her discretion to “make sure you’re not breaking any rules” to add to it, there were exposed wires in the bathroom, and a makeshift shelf was made up of one bare tile with no trims and sharp edges that I had hit my head on a couple of times.

“I was happy with the accommodation for the price i paid and it was in a convenient location”
+the location was good as I was singing in the cathedral and the accommodation was very close.
−There was a short delay when I arrived as I had to ring the owner to arrange for him to come and arrange for me to have entry. However I accept that was partly a lack of communication on my part as to what time I was arriving

−Dark an old I get that thay are old buildings but could have been made to look fresher. Carpets looked as old as the house. Would not book again.

−The view wasn’t the best but it didn’t bother me as we were only there 1 night Carpet could do with a professional clean Shower just needs to be able to be adjusted as I couldn’t do it & water kind of shot past my head.
