“First year of what will be a nice 5 stars all-in but is not yet (2026)”
+Cocktails are good, prívate beach great and low season so not crowded. SPA massage is great, very skilled people. Room nice and tidy, cleaned on request. Nice bathroom, shared pool is great. Food is okay, so you can always find something you like.
−Not reaching expectations from a 5 stars hotel. All inclusive but prices are on every item so you end up never being sure about what is included and what is not. Staff is under experienced so depending on who you ask some things can be included or not. Eventhough the massage experience is awesome, the SPA experience around it is not : it’s just 4 saunas an ice machine and 2 showers. What is unacceptable is the state of the steam room : there is moisture in it (and I am not speaking about a joint a bit black, I am speaking about big chunks of mushrooms on the walls). So it’s a bit of a disgusting experience. Feels strange that half of the staff is from Philippines and not from Greece.

+What I loved most about Ella Rocrita was the perfect combination of location, beautiful architecture, and warm hospitality. The hotel has a wonderful sense of style, with tasteful design and a relaxing atmosphere that makes you feel at ease from the moment you arrive. Everything was impeccably clean, and every detail seemed thoughtfully considered. The staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and attentive, making the entire experience even more special. The hotel has a unique charm that makes it feel both elegant and peaceful , a place where you can truly unwind and enjoy the beauty of Crete. It’s the kind of place where the atmosphere, design, and genuine hospitality come together to create a memorable stay.
−The check-in process could be smoother, but George at reception was absolutely amazing , incredibly helpful and welcoming. Thanks to him, everything worked out well, and we ended up being very happy with our stay.

+We really enjoyed our stay at Ella Rocrita. The hotel is beautiful, surrounded by stunning nature, with a lovely sea and an easy entry into the water. We were very grateful for the room upgrade. The Thai staff were very friendly, everything was clean, and our room was cleaned regularly. We especially loved the Viola à la carte restaurant.
−There are a few things that could be improved. The shower is inconvenient, as water spreads all over the bathroom floor, and it takes a long time for the water to get warm. The sun loungers were quite dirty. Although we understand that it was the end of the season, we had stayed at another hotel within the same hotel group in September, where the sun loungers were in excellent condition, so this was a little disappointing. The rooftop bar could use better lighting to create a nicer evening atmosphere, and the coffee definitely needs improvement. The food was tasty, but the selection was repetitive, with very few seafood options. Ella Helea sets a better example in terms of the overall experience, and we would love to see more variety and attention to detail at Ella Rocrita as well. Overall, we had a lovely holiday and really liked the hotel. With a few improvements, the experience could be even better.

“Stylish hotel in a unique location”
+We had an amazing family holiday in Ella Rocrita! Few things we liked: - Modern design of the hotel, clean and spacious rooms for families - Staff was attentive and fast to help, we truly appreciated the staff from Guest relations - Both pool and beach areas were nice, especially the sandy beach with kids was a great plus - Good programme, e.g. Pilates, Yoga and other workshops. Especially we enjoyed Sfakiani pie cooking workshop that was interesting and fun - thanks to the very warm, welcoming and humble Chef mr. Gogos - Food and cocktails were enjoyable, Street Food Hub really helped on days when willing something different than buffet - Tennis and Padel courts with free equipment was a great bonus, truly a life/weight saver in the all inclusive hotel :)
−The major point to take away is due to the sewage or some cleaning station situation near the Spa. I am not sure how people lived there, for me it would have been unlivable/holiday ruined if our room would have been located nearby. Only passing by that area on some evenings was unbearable smell wise, which was reaching as far as the theatre and Ella play areas. I must admit even on one day in Steam Sauna I could smell a little bit of that sewage smell even though outside it was not felt during the day, so perhaps that smell got trapped in Spa also from a day before. Other discomfort was from rather complicated pathways for people with strollers, however not too bad/manageable. Restaurants were often not having a wow effect - they were okay, but half of the food was the same as in the buffet just presented differently. For us was absolutely fine, but if we would have paid summer season prices of the hotel, expectations would have been much higher.

+Angebot/Infrastruktur insgesamt , relativ neu, Preis-Leistung war in Ordnung, Personal zumeist sehr freundlich (va das Philippinische), gute Auswahl an all-in Getränken
−Kalte Pools - man könnte zumindest eines + den Ninjapool mit Photovoltaik heizen, kein Bereich bei den Pools, wo man mit Glaswänden vor Wind schützt, kleine Zimmer, sehr schlechte Beleuchtung im Bad(bzw funktioniert die Hälfte der Lampen nicht), viel zu kurze Duschwand (Duschen ohne Überflutung des Bads unmöglich), kein Conditioner und keine Bodylotion, Essensauswahl am Buffet insbesondere für Vegetarier eher eintönig, sehr kleiner Strand, viel Müll durch Take-Away Option und Plastikwasserflaschen (in der heutigen Zeit total unverständlich und unverantwortlich , dass es beim Street Food Hub und der zweiten Essensstation nur single use Verpackungen gibt, weiters fast nur Plastikflaschen - könnte man zB durch Wasserspender oder gefiltertes Wasser regeln), schmutzige Auflagen der Liegen (diese werden über Nacht nicht weggeräumt), Sportkurse eher zum Reinschnuppern, als Sport und nur 8-10 Plätze bei Schlechtwetter. Durch Nebensaison war alles recht entspannt, in der Hauptsaison kann ich mir das ganze nicht vorstellen.

+Eine sehr schöne Anlage, geschmackvoll eingerichtet und wunderschön an einer Klippe gelegen. Das Personal unglaublich freundlich, das Essen und die Getränke waren sehr gut, der Service hervorragend. Die Massage selbst war auch sehr gut. Lieben Dank an Ej.
−Leider passt der Wellnessbereich überhaupt nicht zum Konzept eines neu designten 5-Sterne-Hotels. Einen Innenpool gab es leider nicht, eine der beiden Saunen ließ sich nicht richtig schließen und ein Ruheraum war auch nicht vorhanden. Dafür 35€ zu verlangen, steht in keinem Verhältnis. Das Hotel liegt sehr abgelegen, wenn auch wunderschön. Selbst mit Mietwagen sind Ausflüge nur begrenzt möglich.
