+Disappointing Stay - Desperately in Need of Some TLC We stayed at Econo Lodge in Needles, California, for one night in mid-October 2026, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. We’ve stayed in plenty of older, retro motels along Route 66, so we fully appreciate that these places have history and character. The problem here isn’t that the building is old; it’s that the whole place feels neglected, grubby, and desperately in need of some TLC. The sheets on the bed were far from white, looking as though they’d been washed countless times and were well past their best. The room decor was tired, and the curtains were worn and shabby. The bed was only semi-comfortable, and the uncarpeted lino floor felt dirty, leaving us wondering when it had last been properly cleaned. The bathroom was particularly disappointing. The walls were badly damaged, with blown plaster and obvious signs of damp, yet there seemed to have been little effort to address the underlying problems. To make matters worse, there was no hot water for a shower, which is a pretty basic expectation of any accommodation. Breakfast was included in the room price, but what was offered was a sorry excuse for on

“Great price in the ghetto of Needles, cold AC and a simple comfy bed! Overall, it was a good stay.”
+Close to the job site, close to the river, cold AC, comfy bed, large spacious room. Cheap price! Dark black out curtains, great for sleeping! Friendly front staff with brochures for local events and places to check out while visiting the area.
−Housekeeping NEVER came for the 5 day stay, garbage piled up, floors weren't cleaned (we traveled with 2 toddlers who spill ect), we needed towels even though they were stained and thin-we had to ask for them and go get them in the office.

“Fijne tussenstop in Needles”
