“An unexpectedly good stay - Thank you Marek, your wife and Marcel.”
+The breakfast was superb. We could have had a full English, and that looked very good, but we opted for continental which is my préférence. Fresh fruit cut that morning, yogourt, home baked sourdough Bread, butter jam and excellent coffee. The crioissants were magnificent - soft and proper size, no cutting corners here. The breakfast was of the standard you might expect in continental Europe rather than the UK
−Nothing to report

+Rooms were clean and comfortable. Restaurant was excellent, very good food
−Apart from the rooms and restaurant the place was very tired the corridors to the rooms were very shabby needed painting the carpet was well worn needs replacing. The furniture in the beer garden needs treating it looks very grubby.

“Excellent food in an attractive, welcoming village inn.”
+The 'continental' breakfast was more than the usual, with fruit salad, Greek yoghurt, muesli, blueberries, croissants, toast etc. and there was also a traditional cooked option. It seemed odd that the breakfast price is not included in the stay, but at £15 the additional cost is reasonable. The evening meal was excellent - the blue cheese creme brulee and the lamb options are especially recommended. Marcel (the chef and owner) and Peter (front of house) are very friendly and helpful hosts. The pub serves locals as well as visitors, and is really the heart of the very attractive village. The decor of the public areas and rooms is well chosen, and there is a pretty garden for outside drinking or eating. The piped music during meals is regrettable, but is turned off when required. The whole ambience is attractive and restful.
−The shower needed attention - it was very hard to get it to a survivable temperature. More or larger pillows would have been good. We would have liked to arrive before the stipulated arrival time, which seems unusually late.
