+Convenient location, exceedingly polite staff
−Room was small with lots of dinged edges, could have used redecorating. Not sure whether it was because of half term but seemed quite expensive for what you get, which was a small veeeery basic room.

“I had a great weekend. The food excellent and the staff were very helpful.”
+I was there primarily for the Devon Family History Society 50th anniversary celebrations so I booked a room either side of the conference booking. They were able to provide a lovely room which covered both the conference and my own arrangements. The staff were very helpful, especially the catering staff.

“A very good sequel to the DFHS weekend conference”
+Quality of all food was excellent - well presented, fresh and hot.
−For someone who has restricted movement the shower over the bath proved difficult despite a nonslip mat. As a result I resorted to strip washes to avoid falling in the bath. The transparent handbasin was a bit off putting!!

“overall a nice break.”
+The room was very hot and the window was not able to open past two inches wide. The fan provided worked but was inadequate. The sink unit in the on suite was very elegant but too big for the room.
−as previous comments.

“Nice property but be ready to be cooked”
+The room(family room) was an amazing layout, with two rooms in one it really helped with settling the kids. The building is nice and has a lot of potential.
−The room was hotter than a sauna, they provided fans but it made no difference, the windows can’t be opened properly due to a safety chain, this could be overcome by putting two chains on instead of one for both windows so they could open and allow air flow whilst maintaining safety, but one across both just prevents airflow. The property is also a bit run down with paint peeling and ripped carpets.

“we enjoyed it but not the dinner side of it .”
+bedroom
−the dinner was a disaster, after sitting at our table we were then told to go to the bar order our drinks . and then on top of that to order our food and pay for it took my sister 25 minutes . The waitresses could of taken our order easy, The man taken the order for the drinks an our meal and paying for it was just like FAULTY TOWERS. We will never visit the hotel again, Sorry
