+I stayed at the hotel while hiking the South West Coast Path. It's perfectly located along the path - and only a short walk from the beach. There was some renovation work while I was staying there, but it did not disturb my stay in any way. The shared bathroom was clean; I had to walk through a couple of fire doors to get there, which made getting from the room to the bathroom slightly more bothersome.

“Warm welcome, spotlessly clean & very comfortable.”
+We had a really warm welcome from the owners, who were lovely. They are in the process of renovating the property but it is spotlessly clean & has everything needed for a comfortable stay. It was a perfect location for the wedding we attended.
−Nothing!

“Great once finished”
+The hosts were very accommodating & the breakfast cooked by father in law was delicious
−All the stairs as room was on top floor, but in all fairness the house has just had new owners and they have a lot of work to do, & our room was first to be done, it will be amazing when finished.. Also WiFi needs sorting as no reception at top of house

“Too expensive during refurbishment”
+Central location in West Bay close to restaurants and pubs.
−Too expensive for the room and especially during current refurbishment (which is very needed), should be at least £30 cheaper per night. Room was really hot, bed small and uncomfortable, didn’t sleep well at all. Bad layout of rooms. Loud when the “pub” was open downstairs. Not clean. Should be more consistency between rooms eg all include breakfast or not include breakfast. The email we received on booking had incorrect information about the pricing of breakfast so that needs double checking to avoid any confusion and should just be simpler. Just have one price for breakfast or include it for everyone. Especially at the price of the room, it should include breakfast for that price.

“Perfection in a pillow!”
+Loved everything about our stay, including the quirky wonky floor in our room! The new owners have done a great job renovating so far. Perfect location, really comfortable bed and super comfy pillows.

+The staff are wonderfully friendly. The property is lovely.
−This 1780 property is undergoing a major renovation. Despite that we were able to have a very enjoyable stay.
