+Very friendly staff, clean
−No Guinness on tap, lacked atmosphere while in the bar eating dinner, background music would be ideal, instead of hearing everyone's conversations. It was cold, so no heating on. No wine menu offered, ages waiting at reception to get a key to our room. One bottle of water was already opened in our room.

“We enjoyed our stay and would book this hotel again.”
+We found the Staff very friendly and efficient The room was spacious and we had a great view of the town square from our room. We got an excellent breakfast and it set us up for the day.
−We thought the price of our room was a bit steep for this time of year. There was no lift to our room only stairs and could be a problem for anybody with knee or hip problems.

“Very customer orientated hotel! 👍”
+I was due to stay here, but during the date that I was due to stay here, the hotel was closed for renovations. So they switched me to their sister hotel, The County Arms, which was more expensive and luxurious at no extra cost. 👍😊
−As per above, it was given to me at short notice. And this was the only fault with my stay.

“A very quick flying visit to see family for a special occasion. Dooly’s was an ideal base to stay. Once fully renovated”
+Having stayed in the hotel 10 years ago, we knew the location was exactly right for our visit to Birr. Also the private car park is very welcome.
−Dooly’s is in transition. The public areas are really very good and comfortable. However the rooms are in need of some major renovation, which I’m sure will be done by the new owners in due course. Having said that, I am looking forward to returning before too long.
