“Clean, friendly and super welcoming”
+The hosts were kind enough to make us a breakfast to go so we could make the drive for the early morning whale trip. Lovely and clean, great location.

“Memorable but not for positive reasons”
+Beautiful home, we stayed in the Lighthouse Suite which was spacious with views of the water and a private balcony. Bed was comfortable, varied breakfast items including hot food.
−Host was confrontational upon our arrival due to misunderstanding over parking. The initial contact was very unwelcoming and greatly reduced our enjoyment.

“Americans and especially New Yorkers beware”

−The owners. Americans, especially New Yorkers beware! Read past negative reviews- I booked two nights at this B and B for a short trip to Nova Scotia. I received a text from one of the owners about my arrival time in the morning- I was trying to make up lost time for my trip was delayed for I slept my first planned night in La Guardian due to storms: I sent an update that we would arrive around 9 -9:30. When we arrived one of the owners (he never introduced himself) blasted us with insults for our late arrival. I quote “why do you privileged Americans can’t follow the rules Check in time is between 3 and 6.” My friend from upstate New York was trying to explain our late arrival. When she mentioned she was from NewYork, he said “that figures”. My friend lives in upstate New York and works with disabled people. The real strange question posed to me was why he asked about my last name. He was trying to figure out my heritage: WHY? The biggest kicker was on the second night of our stay, I received a text around the same time we arrived the night before. Apparently, he wanted me to move our car to accommodate another person’s stay. Did he insult them. No. I read a past review from someo

“Room with a 🪟”
+Large, spotlessly clean, comfortable room with a good view of the harbour. Lots of natural light and a little balcony. Breakfast was plentiful in a lovely dining area off the kitchen. The host was informative with helpful tips on local attractions and forthright opinions. Best to avoid political discussions.
−Overall a good experience. No complaints.

−Very strict rules about parking, not using wheels on luggage- had to carry it upstairs and not touch the walls. Odd conversation with owner… would not stay again :(

−- Property rules and expectations not clearly communicated when viewing and booking online - Room was very warm - Unable to go outside as door was locked at 930pm and uncertain of rules or how to get back inside

+Lovely room with a sea view with Digby easily walkable but down and up a steep hill. Beautiful gardens. Can recommend the Sydney Street pub with good food and live music.
