“Not a Double Room, whatever it might be called”
+The staff were impeccable - kind, chatty, made sure I got fed despite getting there quite late in the day. Breakfast was packed up for my very early start, and was full of things I needed for a long day in the hills.
−I really want to be about to give this a higher rating because the staff were so friendly, but fundamentally the room was not as advertised. What I booked was a "Comfort Double Room". All the photos showed a double bed. Unfortunately, they were photos of a different room, as the room I got had a small single bed in it, with a mattress far too hard to sleep comfortably on, and not enough space to find a comfy sleeping position without falling off. There was no way to reasonably describe the room as "Double", and had I booked it for two people it wouldn't have been possible to stay in it at all. I have since noticed that the listing does say "single bed" in the small print, but a listing called "Comfort Double Room" that shows photos of a double bed should include, at the very least, a double bed. I didn't get a minute of sleep in it, which rather wrecked my weekend, and left me feeling that I'd been had.

“Another tranquil stay at a pleasant place I return to quite regularly.”
+Great location - easy to get to but quiet and rural once you're there. The staff are excellent, friendly and always happy to help. I've been a few times now and they always remember me and make me feel welcome. The food is excellent.
−As a regular visitor, my only suggestion might be to consider varying the menu a little more. The food is excellent and the menu is varied, using local produce. I just wonder if a little more seasonal variation might further enhance it.

+Made to feel very welcome as soon as we arrived. The owner was very efficient and got us checked in straight away. The room was very comfortable and clean. The food and drink were extremely good, especially the Sunday Roast and good value for money. Breakfast was wonderful.

“Cosy Getaway in the Yorkshire Dales”
+We stayed in a superior double room and it was lovely. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room overlooked Cracoe War memorial which was at the top of some rolling hills. The food in the pub was amazing. We had a gorgeous Sunday lunch & the breakfast was freshly cooked for us & again very tasty. The staff were friendly & accommodating. Lovely peaceful location in a quintessential country pub.
−The only downside was the water pressure. We tried to run a bath as that particular room has a jacuzzi bath but the water pressure was so low it would have taken ages to fill.

“Traditional and cosy place to stay.”
+Hosts could not have been more attentive throughout our stay, they made it feel like a home from home. The accommodation was excellent and the food from breakfast to evening meals were amazing. Very good value for money and will certainly be returning.
