+Staff very helpful and friendly. Had my own key so didn't have to worry about coming back late.
−Floors could have been a bit cleaner. Could have done with something decaf in the tea/coffee station.

+The bed was comfy and it was warm little room felt cozy during the storm the only problem there was slugs in my room I didn't see any but there was fresh slug trails when I check out i have a massive fear of slugs

“Good value, friendly staff and comfy bed. However, if you want 5 star quality, this is not for you.”
+Great location near Durham. Friendly staff. Amazing restaurant - very authentic Indian meals. Parking was close to our room. It was very quiet - apart from the wind and rain! Comfy bed - nice clean sheets etc. Convenient and good value. Plenty of hot water and excellent shower pressure. Tea, coffee, kettle and milk available.
−Some of the fittings are worn. Eg the toilet roll holder was pulling away from the wall and old glue and plaster was spilling out in the gap. Not very attractive to look at on holiday. The hot tap at the sink needs fixing as it starts and stops oddly. Only one side of the bed had a lamp.

“A Basic, room with a Great Shower”
+Shower was updated and bathroom was great. Bed was basic, but comfortable. Door to room was old and reminded me of an old dorm room in the military or college.
−Climbing stairs which is normal in UK, since many hotels, etc are dated, and old so no lift. That was expected for this property. Most of the facility was dated with old carpet, etc.

“Over all a good value stay.”
+The room looked and smelled clean. There were tea bags, coffee sachets and UHT alongside the kettle as mentioned. The TV worked. A hairdryer was available, but I didn't try it. In the ensuite there were a couple of soaps and two small tubes of shampoo. Plenty of hot water was available and the shower pressure was decent. Over all everything necessary was available. However the Inn is rather tired looking and the walls are quite thin - I could hear another customer snoring. The location was reasonable, easy to find and not too far from where I needed to be although I would probably prefer to be a little closer on another occasion. There were plenty of car parking spaces. I wasn't aware of there being Wi-Fi - I forgot to ask and there wasn't the usual "login" card in the room: this wasn't an issue personally but just saying for anyone who may need it.
−There was a smell like drains in the en suite most of the time. The decor was tired. The door was loud, no matter how I tried to close it quietly.

+Had a really lovely stay here. The parking was good, and there were lots of takeaway places nearby, which was really convenient. The room was clean and comfortable, and I was very pleased to be upgraded to a better room at no extra charge, which was a lovely touch. The Wi-Fi worked well, and the staff were all friendly and welcoming. Overall, a great stay and I would definitely stay here again.

+The room existed.
−Dirty, shabby, insecure door lock, just generally unpleasant. I even brushed my teeth outside in the carpark with a bottle of water because I didn't want to use the bathroom.

“Friendly B&B in a great location”
+The staff were some of the most friendly and hospitable staff I've come across at a hotel. They couldn't do enough for us. The room was nice and the location was perfect to travel to and from Durham. Brilliant price too. My parents ate at the restaurant and raved about the food.
−Only minor things like the bathroom door lock and my side lamp didn't work but nothing worth shouting about.
