9.0“Nature at its finest, once again. Returning to this beautiful retreat was just as memorable as my first stay.”
+Nature at its finest, once again. Returning to this beautiful retreat was just as memorable as my first stay. Waking up to the majestic mountain rising directly in front of the chalet, watching the cliffs glow at sunrise, and enjoying the peaceful surroundings remain truly special experiences. Although the stream below the deck is resting during this dry season, awaiting the return of the rains, the lush greenery and surrounding trees provide wonderful shade, naturally moderating the heat and creating a cool, refreshing atmosphere. Evenings are equally enchanting, with moonlight filtering through the trees and complete tranquillity all around. If peace, nature, and breathtaking scenery are what you’re after, this place continues to deliver in abundance.

8.0“Cosy stay at Cottage Pie”
+The great location close to town, but still with a cottage feel and beautiful garden with the mountain and stream to make you feel like you are out in the country. The lovely warm anthrocite heaters and oil heaters made it very cosy in freezing temperatures.
−We didn't have water one evening and one morning, but the owners were very responsive on this and resolved the issue quickly. It would be nice to have keys for the sliding security gate upstairs, especially since we were travelling with a toddler and this is the family unit.

6.0+It was disappointing. The place was cute and "ok" - but the photos look nicer than the actual venue.
−The staff were unfriendly and unhelpful - I actually want to say rude. We did not have an electric blanket and while we noticed it the first night it was already very late so after a whole day out and about, I enquired about it on the 2nd night at about 20h00 on our return. The owner only followed up the next morning - on our check out day and went to have a look - and low and behold the electric blanket suddenly appeared! It was so obvious that it had quickly been put on the bed. Once on the bed the cords snd switch were right in the middle part of the bed and suddenly there was an extra plug in the wall. I think the worst thing is that someone gaslights a person to this extent and then because of your own courtesy you let it slide... Also, although pet friendly - which was the main reason we chose thus venue - it is not clear in the booking area that pets cost extra. While I honestly don't have an issue with paying extra for our pets, we paid R100 per day, per small dog. We had 4, so that was another R800 for the dogs. I have to wonder why? There was nothing special or extra for the dogs - not even a waterbowl. Unlike in the beautiful town of Clarens where dogs are welcomed with

8.0“A cosy stop over in a quiet corner of Clarens”
+The cabin was very cosy and right by a running stream at a quiet corner of Clarens. There was everything needed in th cabin for a self-sustained stay and a welcome panel heater and gas heater option, and a wonderful electric blanket !

+The cottage was in a beautiful garden which was enclosed so our doggies could safely enjoy the adventure. It was such a tranquil garden.

8.0“as this week end was purely for the dogs, as a pet owner it was certainly one of the better places a”
+location was right next to nature reserve where they have the parkrun, which is exactly what we went there for. we had our pets and this is why we chose this house. totally fenced in with a stream at the bottom of garden, safe and secure for them. lots of space for them to run, sniff and walk. bedding was very comfortable, lots of little throws around to sit outside in the cooler evenings
−as a 1st timer to clarens there was no brochures or booklets in the house of things to do in the town and there really is a lot if you know about them, so that was a little disappointing. also charges for pets was not included in the booking.com price and was not aware there was an additional charge so had to do an eft of 150.00 per night per dog.

7.0“Nice place. Owner is very abrupt with a booking mistake we made”
+Nice location. Cute set up. Some sherry was left for us
−We made a mistake with a booking, owner was rude with addressing it. Cold water ran out the one night. None of the cupboard doors stayed closed
