“Cozy and great place to stay.”
+Great location and beautiful grounds in spite of the rainy Nor’easter weather. Beds were very comfortable.
−Walking to breakfast in the rain.

“We paid $516.00 a night to stay in a dump. It is a gem of a property that is not cared for”
+The spaciousness of the room was great, the bar was great.
−The breakfast was horrible. Hashbrown was like what you get from McDonalds. Egg omelet was sour. The only good thing was the coffee. The outside of the Inn was poorly maintained and desperate need of paint repairs, cleaning. The guy who greeted us had on a dirty black shirt with jeans, didn't speak good English and could barely communicate. We did not feel safe in the building we stayed in, it was open and unlocked while we were sleeping.

“I am delighted that I only booked for one night”
+I only liked that it was close to Essex
−A run down property with plastic shower and broken railing at $600 per night. The worse quality price I have ever experienced in a hotel

+Beautifully decorated large room with gorgeously appointed bathroom in a lovely landscaped setting in and near charming villages/towns. Good opportunities nearby for shopping and dining and water sports.

“Beautiful room and inn. I would certainly stay again and recommend to friends. Worth the expense.”
+Room was exceptional and I would stay again. Best inn type room I've had. Very large, comfortable, attractively furnished and perfectly clean and smartly air conditioned with no blowing and drafts. Staff was functional and breakfast was very good. All public areas beautiful and clean and maintained with care.
−Staff could be encouraged to be a little more cheerful and welcoming although they were polite and efficient.

“Would like to stay there again someday and try the food. The facilities were amazing.”
+The property was absolutely lovely. I would like to go back again sometime. It was supposed to include include breakfast, but there was a multiple City water, contamination issue, and every restaurant in five cities along the shoreline had to shut down.

“Unpleasant, cold and nasty staff.”
+Nothing. No heat or thermostat in room. It was located in another room where we had no access and was off.
−Freezing temperatures and cold. When we complained that there was no heat in the room and it was not clean the next morning nothing had been done when we got back to the hotel in the evening. The room was also not cleaned. There was a gas fire but it had to be turned off at night and when we left the room. There was no other heat source as the thermostat was in another room with no access and turned off. We complained to the management who were unpleasant and rude. They tried to pretend the heat was on trying to gaslight us. It turned out it was even off in the other room where the termostat was located. Perversely they offered us that room. They offered us another room which was small and substandard without the facilities we asked for. We left the hotel early and would never return.
