“Rooms need some maintenance”

−Room was damp and smelt musty. Shower head leaked so had to be left on the floor of the shower tray so it didn’t leak over bathroom floor. The tiling around the shower tray had lots of visible black mould.

“Nice place to stay for exploring local area”
+Location was good for exploring the local area. On first impression, a lovely country English pub. The chef, knowing we were staying, made a special effort to warn us that roasts sell out early on a Sunday and kindly offered to put portions aside for our later table booking which was much appreciated. Parking was easy and secure (despite not being on site, but directly behind the pub). The lady who cooked breakfast for us was really friendly & obviously went to a lot of effort to provide a huge English for each of us (unfortuntely, we don't have big appetites, so much of it was left on the plate - but what we did eat was lovely). They also allowed us to check out but come back to use the toilet facilities before our journeys home - no complaints! Beautiful place if you like walking. Thank you
−Not complaing.... but - The rooms are a bit dated, probably due to age of the building so not complaining. We had 2 rooms - one with bath/shower over & other with walk-in shower. Both chose not to use shower (we would have done if more than one night, but just all a bit dated. It was clean but shower curtain was grotty!). All of the staff were very friendly (bar one had a bit of an attitude, especially towards an obviously newer member of the team) - this was made very clear particularly upon check in. We felt sorry for the newer member of the team who obviously was just learning on the job - we've all been there, but no need for the attitude of the more experienced member of staff! We would have preferred if we had been asked if we wanted a "full" english at breakfast; we were just presented with a huge plate of food (maybe most people like this, but half of it was wasted - we felt bad about this) - might be better to ask if people prefer a smaller portion (would have been happy to pay the same for half the food). Hadn't appreciated it's a sports bar (again, our problem), so TV screens with football blaring in all corners of the bar! There was a huge wasp nest outside (not the pub

+It had lots of character and was near to place we wanted to visit
−The room was small .also hot in there even with sash windows open .few steps in room also .had a small double bed .needs bit upgrading .it had mouldy fittings in bathroom ie blinds etc .did have clean bed and towels .food was lukewarm warm my chilli con carne was dry looking with lumpy rice looked like it had been there all day to be fair

+Der Inn war sehr gemütlich und das Frühstück das beste während unseres zweiwöchigen Aufenthalt in England. Der Parkplatz hinterm Hause war schwer zu finden und über die Treppe nicht leicht erreichbar, aber das Auto stand dort gut und sicher.
